Dream Props

What would you like to build, but just don't have the space, or skill to do so?

I'd LOVE to build a 1:1 Price is Right Wheel and Podium Stand. But I jsut don't have the Wood Working SKills to do any carving.

I think the best I can hope for is someone builds a 3D Printer big enough for me to try and build it in sections. although how to attach those sections would be another matter.

I'd love to bring it to conventions for people to spin.

I'm assuming you mean a 3D printer that could do the numbers and lettering, not the entire wheel.

I would think that getting a CNC router and using MDF would be a lot easier, quicker and cheaper.

For me, printing an entire wheel would be far easier than figuring out how to cut the damn thing.......

How much do CNC's usually cost?

Costs vary depending on size and complexity. Here is a link with a few.

Are you making just the wheel or the whole thing pictured in the image I sent with dollars signs and lights? Have you ever made something this large before that has large moving parts? Because if someone spins that heavy wheel, there is a lot of energy that can be accidentally released if the wheel comes off of it's mountings, potentially hurting, or killing someone.

nope, never something that big. that's why it would be a dream prop :). probably something stuck in the corner of the office that would be static :)
