Dread Measurements.....

can anyone provide me with the measurements for dreads.....both long dreads (top row) and short dreads (bottom row).

what i need is.....

1. diameter of the base for both long and short dreads
2. diameter midpoint for both long and short dreads
3. actual length of both long and short dreads

in the next couple of days i'm going to try to make some models to mold off of.

That mostly depends on what style you want.  You want screen accurate?  P1, P2, Wolf, Scar (shudder)?  My longest dreads are 22", and 1 1/4" on the top.  It's more a matter of personal preference than anything else.  Personally, I don't like dreads any longer than 24", but some people prefer them longer.  It can also depend on how many you plan on having.  How big are the dread holes on your mask?

i don't have a mask yet....that will come later down the line.  but i was hoping to make the molds now so when i get the face down that part would be ready.  i'm looking to do something screen accurate....possibly P1.  would you happen to have a pic of your mask with dreads so i can get an idea.  if yours looks good i'll just use your measurements above.

These are not my dreads, but they are pretty much the same as mine.  I don't have any pics of my dreads on a mask, but you can get the idea.  These are also about 1 1/4" on top...

cool!  yeah that's exactly what i'm looking for nothing to exaggerated just enough you know what i mean.  so these are about 1.25" at the base and around 24" long???

i guess i could just make several molds of the large dread and then just cut them to make shorter dreads....save space on molds, but waste foam on cutting them down.

I've both personally measured a screen-used P2 dread at the "fat end", and have also contacted someone who has screen-used P1 dreads, and asked him the same thing, and he also said the same thing on his....1" at the fat end.
