Drawings for Stargate replicators

Hi Guys,

was wondering if any of you had any detailed drawings with sizes for replicator blocks from star gate

the idea is to make one then produce 2-3 replicators

i guess this would take like 250-300 blocks to do ?

thanks in advance

Just make one replicator and then mold the diffrent parts , Leg, head , body fully built.

Im intrested to see pictures of the diffrent replicators.

Took this one from here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=51978&highlight=replicator+block

Quick 'N Dirty detail drawing to give you the idea of the size/scale Russ

As far as the # of blocks to build the small bug, I'd say in the 150-200 range... but I got bored after casting around 20 of these things and never made it to enough to build a bug

The pieces that make up a replicator bug are not quite the same as the individual blocks. The way they go together to make the different connection points alter the basic shape in different ways depending on which one you're looking at.

hi guys,

thanks for the input, Micdavis is it possible to describe or draw how they are diffrent to the drawing above?

I think we need Replicator screen shots first.

most were CG, but I think the ep where Thor takes Carter to his homeworld he has a replicator in a containment. I would guess that was a physical prop.
and thats the one I would replicate.

I have a hero replicator block that I've just been too busy to do anything with. I plan to mould up and cast one to send to a machinist to see if it can be replicated in metal. I hope to have this done soon. I know this weekend is out though because of a death in the family and funeral stuff. Hopefully by Xmas or shortly thereafter I will have some breathing time.

Hi Sycor,

Sorry to hear about your loss..

Do you know if your block was made to be part of a replicator, or just a block that was found on the floor after the fire fights ?

Cklinejr, im guessing all replacators were CG as im sure that one got free and ate the ship... lol .. are these blocks you find for sale lfrom the prop store of london and other places just blocks used for dress setting on the floor ?

Mine is the one in my avatar image. They obviously had different version but mine was used in a scene when they were looking at a single block. It's is dual sided instead of just flat on one side. There is also this version offered by QMX

But if you are wanting to build something like this you will likely need a special block or at least special connector blocks as well as some hero looking blocks for the outside skin.

is the QMX version not a poor quality replica of the block ? im sure they used diffrent versions could be wrong

from my understanding the QMX is a cast of a screen used piece. It's just a piece that was not very detailed. Probably from a pile of blocks in a hallway when a bug was killed or something similar.

QMx replicator blocks were rapid prototyped. I think i remember Steve saying it was from the later season cg files. I've only seen two types of blocks sold as screen used. 'hero' blocks like my drawing someone posted above with the slightly curved font/back, and just bulk background blocks which are basically the same except they have a rectangular body (front and back have no curve)

I have the 3d cad file, not sure what format it needs to be for the rapid prototype places. I gave it to someone last year but I don't think he ever did anything with it.

Most shops will want .stl

www.shapeways.com is a great place to get them rapid prototyped, you can upload the file and get an instant quote in several different materials...

Nice work! Does the Warp kit come with "standard" replicator pieces or does it use some bulk pieces for the basic form?

The kit has some single block groups, and then it has multiple block groups. To assemble it you have to drill holes through some sections and then put a post through them and glue them together. It honestly wasn't all that hard to assemble. There are a few large multiblock sections like for the 'wings' on it. I used some spare pieces to add a little more strength to some sections and build up a bit more of a structure. The legs themselves are a bit weak since you're talking only one or two blocks thick at many sections.

Kerr Avon,

Can you post more pics of your replicator from diffrent angles, also how did you paint that affect on it ?

I have the same one that Kerr pictured. I found that thing a headache to put together, but got it from someone who had lost the packaging and instructions, so had to work the whole thing out from piles of identical blocks and sections of the same blocks!
I gave a up a few times, but it became like my white-whale :lol
