I was contacted by someone to do a Saiyan armor build, more specifically the one used in the Cell saga. As most Dragonball Z fans know, there are multiple styles of armor throughout the series, with the latest being the style used in the Cell saga in which almost everyone was using in the hyperbolic time chamber (Goku, Gohan). Vegeta was the main one to always wear this armor and Trunks also wore it during battle.
There have been a few of these made by people that I have seen floating around the internet. Most, while a good attempt, are not completely accurate and most are 2D, rather than a good 3D build.
I have started gathering the materials for this build and can say I am a bit enthused to be doing this, as I used to be a big DBZ fan and the Cell saga style armor was my favorite.
To break down a bit of the build before actually going into it, the chest, abdominal and back pieces, as well as the straps, will be made from real carbon-kevlar. I have chosen to do this in white and and yellow/gold, rather than painting over the gel coat and not being able to see the woven fibers. So it is not your traditional build by any means.
There will be a lot of different features implemented into this that is generally unconventional when doing armor like this (since most of it is just foam construction) I will update as the progress comes along and answer any questions that pop up. Stay tuned if interested
