Dr Who/Van Gogh episode

I know, probably belongs in the who thread, but that's 3-4 weeks ahead of the US slate now and they'll be past it and i don't want to be spoiled on the upcoming episodes.

Anyhow, just flat LOVED it. Whoever played Van Gogh was amazing as were the Doctor and Amy and everything. The ending with the sunflowers being 'for Amy' - just awesome.

I know they won't do it, but i'd love another episode with him. Didn't catch who he was, but he did an excellent job.

I agree. I really like how character driven this season is.

Van Gogh was played by Tony Curran, AKA Marcus, from Underworld: Evolution

Which was funny because the Van Gogh expert was played by Bill Nighy, AKA Victor, from the Underworld Trilogy.

As soon as I saw both of them, I was like "ooh, an Underworld reunion". I was hoping to see other cast members.

And according to IMDB, Van Gogh is scheduled to be in another episode, again played by Tony Curran.

Gig, I think he didn't want spoilers on upcoming episodes.

But yeah, the Van Gogh episode was *awesome*.. one of my absolute faves this entire season!

Yeah, i didn't want spoilers, but I don't mind that one in the least. Love knowing i'll get to see him again!

It was a fantastic episode, well acted all round. Loved Bill Nighy's speach at the end and van Gogh's reaction. It got quite dusty in my house....:cry

If that's true, will it also be written by Richard Curtis? Here's hoping...

I think it'll likely be a sadder episode, though. He only has one year left, and it seems like a safe assumption Amy and the Doctor will be meeting him much closer to his death...

Looking forward to it, either way. Curran played van Gogh very warmly and everybody got to be compassionate and caring. And there were some laffs. Hell of a feel-good episode!

Edit: 28injection - yes, same here, lol!
