Second - the "beautifully subtle" distress is pure serendipity. I explain - It is obvious that Doom´s disks are supposed to be golden, but I had to think fast - How do I add a gold sheen to Aluminium? A sure fire method would be spray paint, but it would look cheap, and diminish the value of the disk itself, which I had in store for over .... 2012?.... 1997... Over 15 years I had those disks in my possession. Firstly to make the Thor costume, and now that Thor´s suit has changed, I´ll use the remaining disks as thermoforming templates. Anyway, I though that only stained-glass dyes would do the result.
So there I go, I paint them with the highest care.... and then upon the time to ship I thought - Hey, this paint should have dried by now, and stupid me, I touch it. Only to find a hole in the paint the size of a.... well, of a fingertip. So I paint them again and attach them in the nick of time. By the time they got there, the "subtle distress" was achieved naturally, but it added to the greatness that Doom is
