Dr. Doom Cloak Help (Pictures Added)

I have a Halo_1 Dr. Doom mask on its way and was looking for some help on locating some material for the cloak. The mask is going to be a display only but I wanted to add the hood for affect.
Does anyone have any suggestions for accurate fabric source? Screen Caps?

I was gonna say. Post some reference pics and you might get some more advice. I don't know what the hood looks like myself, but if I saw pics I might have suggestions.

The fabric seems to be quite heavy in the appearance and I cant tell if it has a liner on the inside. If any one has better pictures or suggestions on where I can find a similiar fabric it would be appreciated.

Looks like the cloak is made of wool coating with a satin lining. The satin lining is attached to a self fabric facing. The edge of the hood has three rows of top stitching.

In the last screen cap, it looks like the hood opening may be wired to get it to assume that round shape.

Wool coating should be available at any well stocked fabric store. You may also be able to find it on-line at Denver Fabrics or Fabric.com

Check that. You can tell by the drape of the fabric that it is definitely a wool. Looks fairly heavy too. Almost like a blanket. The hood is self faced like MW said, and probably wired as well. I notice a little white band around the edges from the chest down. I wonder if that's a light colored lining that you see the edges of?

Also, I'm not sure if it's just because the pics are grainy, but it almost looks like a wool crepe. Probably just grainy pics.

This is a cool costume. I can't blame you for wanting to tackle it. The shape of the coat looks like it could be achieved with an altered simplicity matrix jacket pattern. Linings and hair canvas interfacing added of course. Now granted this is just from looking at the pics posted. I tried to google more to get a full body shot, but I came up dry.

I also posted the same picture at the top with the Doom pictures. It looks pretty close to the color and texture. Any suggestions as to the lining color anyone?

I notice a little white band around the edges from the chest down. I wonder if that's a light colored lining that you see the edges of?

I believe the "white band" is leather piping. You are seeing the light bounce off the leather. The width of the band is too even to be lining.

I would line the cloak in a color similar to the outer fabric or use black.
