Reel or Rocketeer, are you guys going to be keeping one for each of yourselves? If so, are you planning on doing lights or anything inside it? If so, I'd really like to see what you guys can do with your own pieces!!

And yes, I'll be lighting to dome and main body.

Man, this project run needs to close and go away. I need this BB-8 desperately but just can't swing it right now. Watching the spots slowly fill up was agony, and when it did I thought, "finally - now the option doesn't exist." Then a spot opens up and I reevaluate my finances, talk it over with the missus, decide which current projects I could stop and auction off the components, etc.

Congratulations to all the lucky future recipients - it looks spectacular.

I waited as long as I could before I joined, but ultimately I just had to do it. The piece was going to be too fantastic, and I'd have kicked myself if I let it go.

I ended up getting a nice year end bonus at work, and I'm spending a bit of that on this BB unit. I just hope my wife loves it as much as I do when it shows up, because then I won't have to explain how much I spent on it!!!:lol

Any new information about potential finishing services costs?

I'm just trying to figure out my finances...I'm gonna owe Uncle Sam a few bucks...

Again, no big deal if it's still not been figured out, I'm just keeping money set aside for the BB-8 anyway...because Uncle Sam doesn't need his money until the middle of April!!!! He can wait!!!!!

It's depends on the level of finishing you want. Right now, base finishing is dome paint/placement and applying body graphics. Anything beyond that, still needs to be worked out.

So I just realized my son had a BB8 bike helmet and while the actual dome for this run is with Rocketeer for mastering, I figured it be cool to throw this on the sphere for kicks. [emoji14]

I've been trying to figure that out as well. It made it even worse seeing how the droid displayed emotions in the film. He reminded me of a very loyal dog.

He's just too awesome.

Finished? The dome is still getting mastered. I posted pics of what the body looks like minus weathering. I have 1 spot left open and many "interested" ppl. That being said, the last spot remains open.
