Re: Captain America TWS/TFA Helmet 3D Print ***Finished TFA/Smithsonian #595***

I'll be airbrushing too, curious as to what primer, if any, that people are using and paint types. I usually am painting resin and abs stuff, so I use Tamiya, Testors, Humbrols, Floquils, etc. Also, what shades are everyone happy with? Last, Adhesive type, since I'll be building the kit myself (to save time and to give some relief to Biggeek1972!)

I see, I start with the biggest area..paint everything then work my way down..that way no making. Helps when your finishing 18 of these guys :)

I just masked off the areas that were lighter, as I found a nice dark blue spraypaint. Also, around the silver parts.

I use Acrylic inks through the airbrush.. those other paints you mention..and I find spray paint as well...start to crack over time since its not very flexible. Acrylic inks are super thin, water based and basically a thin layer of flexible plastic.. no primer just adhesion promoter I would say..
Not sure what you mean for adhesives? For the leather or gluing the leather into the helmets? Or resin bits together?

Greetings,

Sorry I missed this first run. If you do a second, I would be interested in a Winter Soldier stealth suit helmet please, finished with leather straps.

Be seeing you,

Magnus Darcrider

I was under the impression the helmet shell itself comes in three pieces and you have to glue it together, paint then insert the leathers. So I was referring to combining the three parts of the shell. Are you saying it's one piece?

What kind of adhesive do you use for the leather?

Definitely interested in a WS one on the next run. Subscribed and eagerly awaiting word! Awesome craftsmanship.

Re: Captain America TWS/TFA Helmet 3D Print ***Finished TFA/Smithsonian #595***

I'm looking to purchase all my WS costume components way in advance of halloween.

Any updates on creating a new run of fully painted and leathered up helmets?

Ok some quick pics of my Cap TWS dome. Still gotta fix a couple minor boo-boos(screwed up cutting the webbing on the side you can't see) and gotta install the rivets.
Thanks again Curtis!

Quick question on those of us kit people - are the getting the leathers unasembled and undyed too, as well as having to trim and paint the shell? If so, cool by me if there are instructions and dye color # provided.

Oh and my earlier comment about assembling the shell was me misunderstanding the pics of the 3-d print, which I assume was your buck for the mold, lol.
