Don Robert's Tron Legacy

Its build threads like this that get me to want to overcome my hesitations on making a TRON costume. I can't wait to see how this turns out, very interesting method. How do you plan on dealing with the lights?

thanks. :) well, we'll just be using reflector tapes but we're thinking of using phosporescent paint also.

progress pic update :)

some insights:

we'll be adding a few colored reflector tapes like blue to give it a different shade & contrast. in plain daylight it just looks like it was painted white but with the flash in the dark - the glow effect is achieved.

The most screen accurate Sam I've seen to date! Great detailing on the rubber. I like that you focused more on the suit and not rely on the lighting alone. Accurate EL lighting can be added later since you got a great base.
I also like how you held the shoulder pads out for mobility. I should have gone that route since it's the most restrictive part of my costume.
I'll keep my mouth shut about the boxers. LOL

a little fun...nyahahaha!

thanks.i also checked out your build.great going! :thumbsup yeah robert usually leaves the shoulders off for mobility. even in his IM costume. unless its really necessary he rarely uses connectors. the parts don't really fall especially if its really fitted to his body which he always does. ;)

:lol its okay. he was wearing his IM boxers and i said change into something black cause its too red, won't look good on pictures...i grabbed the thing i got my hand on nearest to black and its spidey power! hahaha!

good thing its not the snowflake design. lol.

That L-200 used looks amazingly like rubber a rubber material. It's actually a heat-sealable high density foam. I'm going to begin using it soon for my Rinzler outfit and might see you guys at SDCC this year!

Pinoy power!

lol
Great work!

thanks. :)

it is rubber. we call it rubber here but people have been debating what's it called in the U.S and someone said its L-200. :)

how we wish we can go to SDCC... :rolleyes

Is the rubber you use easy to form fit to a body? I am planning on buying some of the stuff you guys have and am planning on maybe heating it up and pressing it against the body to have the form fitting look. Have you tried this method before?

First off DAMN that's awesome!!! Wow I need to stop all my plotting and planning and just get to work :lol
