don Post studios is no more.

As much as people trashed their stuff (much like they do Rubies) they provided items we never would have gotten elsewhere.

Sad to see them go as well. :(

Wow, yeah very sad news post was a huge part of my childhood and teenage years. :(

I don't know if I ever owned anything of theirs growing up as I rarely had masks and that but it's a shame to hear another company in PA going out of business.

I had the small Vader that my parents got me as a child. My favorite mask was the Cordian Alien. I loved that mask!

I still have 2 of their life-size SW statues in my collection(Boba Fett and the Stormtrooper). I know they're not screen accurate, but they still make impressive display pieces. I've been thinking about selling the Stormtrooper for a while now, but just can't pull the trigger on doing it.

Ohhhh cmon. Their stuff sucked!!! Well the movie stuff sucked. I'm shocked they lasted this long.

Yes. But if they weren't around there wouldn't have been anything for a very long time.

Kids don't care about SA. To prop collectors like us ya, they sucked, but to kids & casual costumers? They were the s**t!

Man, I just googled Don Post, and I remember that stuff being way better than most of the stuff I thought was crap. My how times change.

Say what you will about the quality of their products these days, but Don Post is a part of history of collecting. They made such a huge impact on our hobby with their products throughout the years, and it's really sad to see them go. Being into mask collecting since I was just a little kid it's really shocking and a little depressing seeing it unfold like this.

Oh man i think that's real sad. Like most of you guys they were a part of my childhood. I always loevd their adds in Fangoria mag etc. I didn't think there stuff was so bad. Not SA sure but as others mentioned as a kid you don't see or care about it. I had a couple of Gremlin masks by them. Chewie to.

Their Classic Action and Deluxe lines were the first licensed helmets accurate in size and detail* available. No one else was coming close for years until MR.

(*for the time...they were later surpassed, but that doesn't diminish they were the first to give the costumer reasonably accurate options)

For mask collectors the stuff was top notch AND it was made here instead of being shopped out to different companies. They were the only place to get good thick latex masks. I have a feeling that the people saying they are horrible are way younger than us that like them. lol

I remember drooling over their full page ads in Fantastic Films etc......gazing in wonder at the wolves, aliens and the facehugger......

Wow, sad indeed....

Rich
