Ironic that the episode that one of the most elusive props ever, is aptly called "Obsession". Damn I love this hobby.

I have every episode of the Avengers and the New Avengers - what do you need?

A really good screen grab of this radio (the one that Lewis Collins - Bodie!! -has)...

As said, season 2 episode 5 (I think) 'Obsession'...

What we are after is if there a name of the radio manufacturer or model on it...

Darn that looks familiar! I work near a market that has regular flea markets, and I've seen radios that look a lot like that on there.

Kinda reminds me of the Panasonic Ranger 505 used in Aliens as the base for the motion tracker.

After the hols, I'll keep an eye out on there. ;)

I spent a good portion of my day cruising my iphone looking for this radio.

The air date of this episode "Obsession" was October 6 1977. Could this be a 1960's item or are we looking for a WWII item I wonder.

Bodie (like the show) was British right? I've never seen it but since these guys started looking for the radio box I have learned some. Brodie was SAS. I've tried looking up british and german radios.

I've tried Clansman and Larkspur brands. Came up empty.

You have made a small group of us very very happy! We are still trying to find an original, but if not, your screencaps have given us details to replicate the radio to a degree of accuracy never dreamed of previously! Thanks for helping us out!

BTW, totally agree with your assessment that this is a civilian radio.

After Googling a bit, I found that the Panasonic GX 400 radio is very similar in style:

The speaker 'grill' is a similar style, but what is more interesting is that the tuning dial is a very close match. I've not spotted a similar model, so maybe a lower cost copy / clone?

I blew up, squared off and straightened the grab Shagger provided:

Close up of the label - looks like a white on green sticker?

Can't make out the oval logo, but that could be 247, or 447?

Great find. How do you even find this stuff, Art?

:lol

I can't take credit for it. This is a massive group effort going on over at the MEPD. This piece has been eluding us for years. We are closer than ever, but still don't have it...
