Doctor Who Spinning Tardis question/concern.

Hey y'all, I didn't know where to put this question, but still figured some of you probably have this item, which is the Doctor Who Spinning Tardis, which is basically a desk decoration where a mini TARDIS floats between two magnets. Anyways, I just got mine in the mail, and I opened it, and for the past 3 hours I have been trying to get it to levitate to no avail. I've looked on youtube for tips and see comments saying to keep practicing at it, but frankly I'm starting to think it's just broken with the bottom magnet not working properly.

If anyone else has this item and has had problems with it I would appreciate any advice or comments before I decide to return this back to Thinkgeek. Thanks.

I got one at christmas and I love it (i'm easily pleased :) )
Once you have fed the base with the batteries and put the Tardis close to the top magnet the little red light should come on if its working. If you hold it too close to the top it will stick. Pull it a little bit lower but stil being able to feel the pull of the magnet. It should either float or pull up to the top magnet. Once floating you should be able to get it to spin quite well.

I put in batteries and an ac plug, and the light comes on, and I swear i feel like I hit that sweet spot where it feels stable (not being pulled up, but slightly balanced from below), and it stays up with the slightest touch--only to fall the moment I let go/lose contact completely. Should I be feeling any sort of pull/push from below?

No, I ended up returning it to thinkgeek for a refund. Would have been great if it worked off the bat, but then I saw other things I wanted coming out in the future and decided I'd rather have the money for them. Thanks for your help though!
