Doctor Who NEW Sonic Screwdriver

Clever git :lol The emitter end of the new sonic is a crystal ball held by three claws. I've seen this design (non Who universe) many times before but can't place it.

I would say LORD of the rings but my staff has 4 claws around it.

Sounds like the tricks that Pertwee and Tom Baker did with theirs. Of course that version had no electronics.

I haven't seen enough of the classic series to know everything about those, but I'm talking about something like an actual setting adjustment dial, or switches, etc.

Like the TARDIS, like the costume, like the companion. Not so much the new sonic. Of course, I'll have to see it in action. Looks rather cobbled together, not as sleek and stylish as our current version. Then again, I've never been a fan of Pertwee's sonic either, but love Baker's...go figure!:lol
We'll see what happens when he uses it. I've been proven wrong before!

I don't think I care for the new design. I'm really looking at the new series with great trepidation. Emo kid, iPod Tardis Console, now replacing the Sonic Screwdriver with what looks like a fancy vibrator. Just not looking forward to it.

To me there have been 10 Doctors before him... I will have to wait and see this Doctor in action for awhile before I can judge whether I like him or not.
I remember when some thought Tennant was too young, yet Davison was younger than he Tennant when he first took over as the Doctor. I wasn't sure about Tennant when I first saw pics of him. He proved those worries wrong real fast. I hope Smith can as well.

It's funny at first I had trouble getting used to the Doctor being played by someone that was only a year older than I was when Tennant was playing him. Now we have an actor that is ten years younger than I am... weird and boy does it make me feel old.

I am looking forward to the console. I don't see Steven Moffat doing an "Ipod console" thats just not in his style. He likes the classical looks. look at the new TARDIS. its Hartnell all the way..at least coloring wise. I am sure we will get something updated yet classical with the console as well.

David Tennant WAS the Doctor, so was Pertwee, the Bakers etc before him...who were THE Doctor. Smith will be great, I am sure. The changes to the Doctor, TARDIS, Console and Screwdriver are constants and cosmetic. The core of the show will be the same, will be great and I am sure we'll love it.

When Tennant first was the Doctor, I did NOT like him. Did not like the boring suit, and was not sure about the Sonic with a light on it. Even the console room was...whoa.

Change is Doctor Who, and now after re prioritising my feelings...I'll not make teh same mistake twice and I eagerly look forward to Matt Smith's Doctor and all the gadgets, gizmos and Technospeak of the Time Lord

What I've read said that it's going to be the 'most hi tech design yet' to be seen on Doctor Who. No pictures have been released yet.

I absolutely LOVE that one JUST to the left of the new series sonic we all know and love! :love

I wish they would have gone with that design for 11, because then it'd be another awesome prop that I could look forward to someday owning! :cool

Ah, who am I kidding... once I see the new one in action, I'll probably end up buying one at some point, even if only the toy replica. :unsure
