Well, it's happened. The new Doctor has a new Tardis interior and exterior, and now we see he has a new sonic also:

Hmmm... From the pic I'm not liking it it, maybe cause I can't really make out the details, looks pretty damn big though

Alex Kingston was seen filming... the Doctor has a new Sonic. What if we aren't actually getting the full River Song story arc and they're trying to keep things tidy? ;)
 
Well, that looks as cheesy as everything else that's coming out of the new pictures. Please God, save me from the blight of imagination that is known as steampunk :angry

I see the new guy is working for half Tennant's salary. Bet that had nothing to do with his casting :rolleyes

I hope they flesh out her story arc. I loved her two-parter last season.

based on the pic of the screwdriver, I'm not liking it. Kinda looks like a small, thin, colorful council lightsaber. Maybe this is the version he modifies and gives River and then goes back to using the Eccleston/Tennant version :)

River's sonic was a modded version of the old version.

Well I can saftely say....if that is indeed the Sonic....meh Not really liking it yet. Will I get the toy? yeah, but prop...not really as endearing to me as the last one :)
 
After seeing the bigger picture I really really dont like it, it seems like they made it just to make a toy from it, the handle has no design, its just like a paint brush IMO
 
It looks kind of like a ray gun from the 50s. Or like they ran the prop through a laminating machine. I can safely say I'm not a fan, but they could probably make a really accurate toy.
 
It does look rather toy-like. Although, I thought that about the last one.

IMO the original is still the best.
