As the new series approaches, look inside the Tardis, and compare it with some earlier incarnations of the Time Lord's travelling sanctuary.

Thanks for posting!
I prefer this design, as it leads the eye to other rooms and areas of the vehicle as seen in previous stories, and makes you wonder what's up / down those steps.

Oh thank god... the first pics I saw (earlier tonight) had it lit differently and it looked garish, rather like a casino in daylight.

Looks alright here :thumbsup

It'll never replace the last one, but definitely very cool. Lots of little things I like about it, a couple things I don't. For instance, it looks just a little Tim Burton-ish, which in my opinion is never a good thing.

I like what I see. I see nods to the previous room and many before it, going right back to the original Hartnell console room (check out the rings at the top of the time rotor/central column). I'm getting really enthusiastic about this new series, and I want to see more (more! more! more!) of this new console room. Oh, and the new Doctor & Companion, I suppose. Going to go out and grab the print-edition of the Radio Times a bit later for some large scale pictures...

Like the links to other rooms, like the echoing of the hexagonal console in the raised floor area, not too sure about... are those holes all over the lower floor? That can't be safe!

No railings either. That can't be safe. Someone call the EU Safety inspectors!

I read somewhere that there are railings, but they were removed for that photo shoot. I don't know if that's true, just relaying what I read.

Either way, I love it.

I kind of like the way the Time Rotor goes through the floor, kind of like a Warp Core of the Enterprise.

And Amy Pond is completely doable.

Here's a scan of the fold-out Radio Times cover. Apologies for the relatively poor scan, I blame the fact our office multi-function scanner-printer is abused. Usually by me.

I'm very curious about what that brass plate says on the console side facing us.

I'm actually liking it, alittle too much orange for my taste, but looks good, but nothig will surpass the previous design IMO

Wow!! I love it.

I'm torn between this and the last. I think I prefer the previous console, but I like how this one has more 'depth' and goes beyond the console room. :)

Digging the new look of the Tardis and the new Sonic is growing on me fast. Matt Smith may be a fantastic actor but all the promo pix I've seen of him so far don't make him look all that pretty, that's for sure.

He's definitely not pretty, but neither was Tom Baker and look how that turned out lol :lol
I like to think that smith could be the best in a long time.
