Doctor Who borrows Clara's badge from Red Dwarf?

Was just flicking through eBay listings and came across this "Doctor Who Replica Prop Badge" that Clara wears in Season 7 of the new Doctor Who:

It's a WW2 Luftwaffe Cap Badge. I know this because I have one as it was worn by Rimmer in Red Dwarf as a Space Corps Officer and was identified here on the RPF.

An easy one to add to the collection.

Now, as I've not actually WATCHED Season 7 yet (waiting for the Complete Season 7 boxset - there WILL be a complete boxset and not just the Part 1 and Part 2 boxset, right?), anyone able to tell me what kind of insignia/badge it's MEANT to be in the show?

It's just a military badge that The Doctor takes from a platoon Captain and gives to Clara when he puts her in charge. Kinda inconsequential.

That was how it was shown, but I for two would like to know whether or not to snatch up the season as a whole or go ahead and get season 7 part 2 and The Snowmen Special.

They'll release series 7 as a whole. They always have in the past, no reason they wouldn't.

I saw an ad at SDCC today, the full S7 box set comes out early November.
