Doctor Who 2006 "Ounce of Reality"

Just wanted to start a thread for this which I will be starting this afternoon, and maybe see if it was recognizable as anything to anyone before i start it from scratch. This is the last "ounce of reality" left in the Tardis after they crash in the alternate dimension, the last bit that gets them home, and I thought it was a cool little prop. It also takes out Cybermen quite nice My plan is to sculpt ad cast it in two pieces, from clear resin with a hollow center for a green LED and electronics.

Funny my original thought was a bearing with a crystal pushed up inside of it. But that would be too easy.

well ive got this mostly together now, random bits of lenses, sculpey and sintra. Still gotta chip the "crystal" down a bit to make it more real looking, but getting there. Doesnt look like much, but once its cast in clear and stuff, it will.

couple more shots of the prototype and a quick sloppy test i did with a clay mold and some hot glue to test an idea i had about the hollow inside and lighting, just waitint to order silicone and to get some clear casting resin for this... living in the middle of nowhere, not even my local walmart has the stuff anymore ><

looks pretty cool. only thing i would really change on it would be the shape of the upper crystal. the one in the screencaps is a little more "pointy", with small sections ribbed out.

youve got like 95-99% of the shape done.

looks pretty cool. my gf was asking me about this prop a few weeks ago. said she found another addition to my green crystal collection :lol
