Doctor Doom Cosplay

Hello everybody,
Just finished up my Doctor Doom cosplay for Emerald City Comicon and figured I'd share:

1.JPG0.jpg

Here is a component breakdown:

Helmet - was made from the Doom Pepakura model that is floating around, not sure who the original modeller was on that but it was a fun build. I made it with card stock with a fiberglass resin coat and a lot of bondo.

Cloak - was ordered from Germany and was made by Inter-Moden.

Chain and Brass Plates - The chain was a ebay purchase, just did a search for brass decorative chain and the brass plates are actually drink coasters that I epoxy puttied bolts to in order to hook it to the cloak.

Tuinc - Green canvas from the fabric store, the pattern was very basic, like a pillow case with holes for head and arms.

Belt and Pouch - Heavy lifting belt from ebay, had to splice in some extra leather to the back to extend it. US military ammo pouch dyed brown.

Shoulders - To be properly Doom like in stature I used a set of hockey pads to bulk out the upper body.

Body suit - Ordered from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/WOLF-UNITARD...id=1520274752&sr=8-4&keywords=grey&th=1&psc=1

Gauntlets and Shoes - Shoes are Sketchers leather slip-ons painted with Agenlus Leather paint https://angelusdirect.com/collections/metallic-paint/products/pewter-paint The Gauntlets were a pair of leather armored motorcycle gloves ebayed from the UK and painted with the same Angelus paints. They also got a dusting of the armor spray paint to make everything match up.

Arm and Leg Armor-
I used some of the patterns from http://www.armourarchive.org/patterns/ for the legs, knees and elbows. The rest was cobbled together using custom patterns. All of it is cut EVA foam that has been heat formed, sanded (by my fiance who sacrificed her hands for this, bless her heart) and contact cemented together with some extra zip ties in key locations. It was then coated in plasti dip spray and painted with Rustoleum Dark Steel metallic spray paint.

Here is a time-lapse of me putting on the whole thing:

There are a few adjustments that I need to make and I'm working on a light and smoke rig for the gloves but overall I'm very happy with it. Let me know what you think.
