Do you recognize this GIANT mechanical claw?? Possible Prop?? - Need your help!

Hi all,
Your challenge should you choose to accept it is to identify this aluminum claw. I bought this baby at a swap meet in LA and the seller said he was told it was made for a movie but he did not know what one. Its about 3-4 ft long and has a motor at its core that looks like if can open and close the claw mechanism. Its made of light weight aluminum so it couldn't have been used in an industrial setting. Looks like it would be at home on the set of Terminator.

That was one of my thoughts. Spent some time looking at some of the movie robots. That would be awesome if it was.

what if its opened up could it be like legs like that claw baby in toy story? like some apparatus from Virus or the neck plug in the Matrix. im seeing it not being used as a claw but some other industrial application
