Hmm... having some trouble trying to find a supplier for the base airsoft gun and short magazine here in Canada. I understand that the airsoft replica guns are not allowed to be imported into Canada, so I was going to just buy one that is being sold within my own country already, and there are a handful of places, but none which carries the short mag. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This is one of the sites selling it, and it's confirmed the right version:

I got the HFC in a few days ago from our friend Ven Dean and it looks just like the pics,
The studs for the crossbar will have to be glued on, I am working on finding a suitable glue,
In the pics the barrel looks like there are no antenna on top and the track is short,

Down under we have a glue called Quick Grip, I think in the States it is called Barge Cement. I find this to be very strong, I glued my t tracks and kobold clip to my graflex and there is not much surface area on the later, and it ain't coming off anytime soon.

One solution may be to drill the frame for stud pins to fit behind the crossbar and fit into the frame (just the thickness of the frame) just enough to add a bit of mechanical stability to the glue - if it can't be bolted in some way.

A good quality 2 part epoxy may be a good solution as well. Very strong and stable.

I see you pointed out a Hong Kong website which sells the HFC airsoft gun and mag. But I'm looking for a Canadian company, since Canadian border security would seize any replica airsoft guns crossing the border. Maybe not the magazine, but the gun for sure.

However, I can find the KWC brand of M712 airsoft guns in Canada, but not the short clips, nor the HFC style. I wonder if the KWC is close enough to fit that HFC magazine and this DL-44 conversion kit.

Anyone know?

Yes, you said you'll look for the HFC locally, just pointed to the short mag. I couldn't find it anywhere in my country, I went straight to the solution :)

Can't help you with that, I only know that the HFC and Marushin share the slot, but if it's like the Umarex (uses CO2 cartridges) sure won't without modifications... Assuming you want functionality.
