Not "plugged in" to anything, just free-floating, attached to the inflatable blade. Powered with a flexible, spooled wire. Either way, I'm sure Disney considered a lot of these options before committing to their design. Just fun to give it a think!

They should do Darth Maul’s hilt…the size of that hilt should be able to hold the mechanism without looking too oversized.

Yeah it wasn't that long ago being 2018 but if we go back earlier to the days before Disney acquired LFL their imagineers were definitely probing the community and the FXS forum site and its manufacturers for information about the sabers and technology.

Hey ID10T ! What, you mean easier than creating an invisible energy field that can contain light that is as hot as the sun in a predescribed shape which casts no light nor heat of its own and does not distribute its heat until this unbelievably omnipotent forcefield is somehow breached through contact without allowing its energy to blow out of the breach like a cataclysmic Jabba fart?
