Hi Group!

I am thinking about doing replicas of Maleficents staff, Jafars Staff and King Tritons Trident.

I am new to this site, and just wanted thoughts on materials you think would be best!

I thought metal would be best for the Trident but not sure...

Thoughts?

I would stick with lightweight materials especially if you plan on doing a run. Shipping would kill your sales if you made them from metal especially King Triton's trident.

Also you might want to think of making them hollow using aluminum poles for the main part of the staff. As far as the head pieces like Jafar's staff I would go with hollow resin. Easy to make a mold and cast.

I am looking at my movie sized Little Mermaid movie poster and it looks like the trident would be easy to make from all aluminum. You would have to do some fine tuning of the fork end though. A Dremel tool or workbench mounted sander would do well too. It would be AWEsome too if you could make the triton semi-transparent and rig it up with lights so you can push a button and make it light up (to give someone legs you know!)

Already exists! Although I don't know if I would trust those Chinese made from China costume props! They tend to have SCALE problems!

I have a toy Jafar staff that was about 2 ft in length that I got off ebay and thought I could use the head part to create a mold and than of course make it longer for a lifesize effect of course. I will look into the idea you gave for the Trident and Jafar base...

Thanks :thumbsup
