Disney Fairey Tales Are Not Dead - TANGLED Sneak Peek mini review

Contrary to what the LA Times reported that Disney's Tangled was the last Fairey Tale animated feature thank goodness it turned out to be untrule.

I saw Disney's Tangled last night at a D23 sneek peek at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank and I must say Disney has once again hit out of the park from an strictly entertainment value. The animation was good, storyline twist was well done, and the characters where great. I am glad that John Lassiter provided some input on this film and influenced it with his spin on movies. I was concerned when it started off as Rapunzel and became Tangled. I guess the fear of another epic financial failure like Prince$$ and the Frog was looming but I still enjoyed both movies.

4.75 out of 5.00 and recommended for both little and big kids!(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup:thumbsup Negative .25 because the Real 3D technology is great but the glasses are the most uncomfortable to wear especially if you are already wearing corrective lenses.

I read over the weekend the reason for the name change....

Boys.

Seriously.

The upshot was that the 'Princess and the Frog' was good, but boys just didn't want to see it. More surprisingly - and very sad - is that once girls pass the age of 5, they no longer want to be princesses, they want to be 'hot'. The apparently did tons of market research that proved the point, but only after PatF didn't bring in what they'd hoped.

The title was changed from Rapunzel, though, mainly to appeal to boys. They weren't interested because the title and the little they know of the story made them think it was just for girls.
