Disney doesn't know the name's of the Star Wars films, apparently

The proper order is actually 4, 5, 6. End of story.

The next step is to throw the remaining films in the trash.

Then you proceed to set the trash on fire.

When the fire is out you urinate on the ashes.

That's my process.

Your mileage may vary.

;)

The emphasis on the episode numbers starting with the PT was to make it very clear that these new films didn't follow on after the three than had been released twenty years before.

It's not honest at all. I was just being a dick. I wasn't crazy about Rogue One. Not bad, but overrated imo.

I would never buy all the films. I would only buy the OT and only if it were the properly restored OT, not the SE versions.

TESB and ROTJ were both released first-run with the episode numbers, and SW was re-released as episode IV in the '80s long before the prequels.

Which still doesn't explain why it matters to the op. It's box art for god's sake. It's hardly as if they've reworked them and changed who shot first, added multiple "funny" cgi bits etc, so why get bothered enough

When I was a kid I used to stare at the VHS box art (CBS/Fox set) and get lost in it. I can't picture anyone doing that with these.

Maybe not, as how many kids do you think will actually own the physical copies over streaming/downloading them these days, and in the future?

Really? Exactly how many people are going to buy a 10 disk box set that don't know the order?

The proper order isn't even 1-10, it's 4,5,6,1,2,3,7,3.8, 8, 3.9 so they'd have to also add a card to explain the proper order to the 17 people who buy it who don't already know the order.

I don't know, you tell me... since you seem so sure.

I'm just saying why not make it easy for people?

I stream most things but if it's something I really love I want it in physical media. Though I haven't purchased a movie in years because I haven't seen anything I've really wanted to own. That says a lot about a vast majority of the content being released.

You know what would look really slick is to have the nine episode box set ( after tros is released obviously) just have black boxes with silver trim and just the episode numbers in Roman numerals in some fancy font. Simple but classy. No more of this photo shop garbage art.

Yes please. 1,000 times yes!

The last BD release didn't have episode numbers either

So after looking at the new covers a few times. I kinda like TPM and ROTS. But the others are garbage. And what the heck happened to TLJ? They lost the exciting contrast of the red and white.

Why photoshop? Why monochrome?
You telling me Disney couldn't afford to hire an illustrator?
These look like they were made by somebody's nephew.
"Don't spend money on an artist - my nephew, Dalton, has photoshop on his iPhone. He'll have 'em done by the end of the day."

Way to half-ass, Disney.
Oh, what do I care - I won't be buying these stupid things...
The cinematic equivalent of chicken McNuggets...

Look what I came across randomly this morning.

That's pretty cool. Honestly I kind of like the idea of a simple, yet elegant boxed set without the busy (and in my opinion lazy) photshop art. Often they come across as just so bad. No composition, just washed out images of random characters placed in random areas trying to mimic the far superior poster art painted by real artists.

How cool would it be to see a big black box with fancy roman numerals 1-9 sitting on your shelf knowing it's the Star Wars Saga? It would look so refined!
