I loved the Original Series ones but the design of these is butt ugly! I can't bring myself to own one.

Well I guess I'm the odd man out because I love this phaser design. I think it's elegant and beautiful. Can't wait until these come out!!!

I used to hate the TMP/TWOK equipment too, but I've come to accept them as unique and interesting designs, and I'm glad Diamond is stepping up to tackle them. I also think it's really cool they're adding the snap-on Phaser I feature...That was really unexpected.

I hope that their role-play toys continue to do well so they continue to make new items. They're done so well on all of them so far they're really giving a lot of bang for the buck that can please toy buyers that probably don't know better about the little details, yet something good enough (and upgradable) for the prop collectors.

I like it, so I will be getting one. I have the Playmates as well as a couple of resin ones!:rolleyes

I grew up on the movies as a teenager so I have a fondness for the movie stuff. I love the WOK phaser and will pick up a few as well.

Was so disapointed when I first saw these but I too have gronw to like them.

Yeah, I'll probably get one of those too. Despite the design of this particular prop, it may imply something far more interesting - possibly that one day soon they might do a proper-scale ST5/6 Combat Phaser. We'll have to wait through the ST3 phaser before that, in all likelihood, though, but I kind of liked that design - the most TOS-ish. Hell, I'll probably get every single thing they put out. DS has done some of the best mass-produced replicas in the industry that haven't cost an arm and a leg, IMHO. If nothing else, I'll support them simply on that one account.

I always thought that design was better suited for ST:TMP. I prefer the black assault phaser from STIII and up.

So the first gen white handle phasers were all black and had a solid aluminum knob, eh? Learn something new every day.

The TWOK phaser I is just the front half of the phaser, popped off of the handle.

I'd be shocked if AA didn't make both a TMP version and a TWOK version, since we know their bread and butter is in repaints, but if for some reason they don't make an actual TMP version I'll just get two and repaint one of them.

I'll be doing a repaint as well. I will probably be yanking out whatever lightbulb or LED is in the emitter also. I love rewiring these things!
