Dexter's Kill Bag and Tools

So even though I closed the thread on the small bone saw subsitutes due to lack of interest it seemed, I am able to get 10 more of these in about 30-45 days, so if someone needs one PM me so i can add your name to the list.

The thing that concerns me with the "substitute" small saw is that the handle appears to be way too large (almost the same size as the large saw) after seeing this picture. I'm starting to wonder if its even worth attempting to modify.

looks good Kid A, nice kit! yea the handles are close to being the same size but there are a few slight slight differences. but since the one true small bone saw has yet to be found and may never be found it is the best substitute at the moment.

but if I only had the dimensions to the actual bone saw I could get a project going to hsve them made up. but from what i hear stainless steel at the thickness of the handle would be quite expensive, the stainless for the blade i could get for free from a friend who has tons of it in his shop laying around. But i just may attempt it.

Drew and I are currently teaming up to work on a replica small bone saw, I gave him all the dimesions info from thermoscientifics site and a pic DP posted of his so he can draw up some CAD files for me, which i will take to my guys to have the actual small bone saws replicated. to cut down on costs, i may do the handle aluminum, and ofcourse the blade stainless. so lets hope we can get this done. its a good possibility. So DP if you could possibly help us in this and possibly take some measurements if possible? like how wide from laying on its side is the blade from the smallest part to the wider part, how far it goes past the top part of the handle. how wide the actual handle is itself. things of that nature, no taking it apart as I know you won't do that, but anything to help Drew and I to get this accomplished. I really do believe it can be done.

and Kid A, I'm jealous right now at your kill tools right now lol. i hope i can complete mine very soon. And as far as getting someone to cut your spatula, look around your town at local machine shops and see if they can do a cut for you.

If you can wait until the last week of April, I will be offering my services again. :thumbsup
Too cool of you Pinder! I love the one you inadvertently cut for me. LOL I bought mine from Jaakub and love it. You did an amazing job with it. Instead of calling it a "Modified Global Spatula" I refer to it as "The Pinder Knife".

And to everyone else who hasn't cut theirs yet, this is your guy. :love

Thanks, man! I appreciate the kind words. And I definitely like your name for the knife! :love

Kid A do you have the old messermeister knife roll or the new one? I just got the new one intoday and with the small bone saw (since i was told it fit in the pocket fine) and i see you got yours to fit, how did you manage it? does those two pockets need to be modified into one? as far as removing the seewing in the middle of them?

The saw fits fine but it can be a pain to get in because the teeth get stuck in the fabric. If you place the saw over the pocket you should see it fits. Drove me nuts at first, just need patience. Slide it in slowly and try to have the teeth not touch.
