Dexter's Kill Bag and Tools

glad i could help man. i don't know how you guys fit that small bone saw in the roll as i spent countless amounts of time with no luck until i just cut the back material out of it to make it fit smoothly. is that the original accurate roll or the new one?
also have an update on the screen accurate bone saw, got ALL the info needed and then some that one would need to replicate them, my friend is doing up the cad drawings for both the blade and handle and we'll try a few first all aluminum to make sure we have it all right, and once its 99-100% an exact replica they will be made with the actual stainless steel used in the real deal....other projects in the works as well...will keep you all posted. should have something for you to see soon.
lets just hope that once the finished products are done there will be an interest in them, otherwise I know a few that will want them which is still fine.

Robert
Be honest I stole my wife's seam ripper and took the seam between the two pockets out. The I moved the knives down a little and it seems to still look pretty close to the rest of you guys tool rolls.

Please keep me posted on the replicas, you know I'm interested.

Nice looking set Sandman! That small bone saw don't look bad in the bag. Did you restitch the pockets?

It's not a spatula! It's the "Pinder Knife".

As I was telling Robert I used a seam ripper. I tried for about an hour to get it in the pocket and just couldn't get it in. I finally decide to just remove the problem. My wife said she would try to restitch the pocket but she hasn't had the time. I'll let you know how it comes out.

Please for give me I was out of my mind with the joy of getting this fare and sharing it. I swear hence forth it will be referred to as the Pinder knife. :)

Sorry for the multiple responses to night. I know there's a way to respond to multiple posts with quotes but I couldn't figure it out. If anyone could clue me in I'd appreciate it.

Pinder,
If you have the time I'd love for you to cut my Pinder knife. I'm not that comfortable cutting down a $90 spatula. I would prefer the master do it. Please let me know when your ready to start them and how much. Thanks.

Sean

No worries, Sean. As soon as this semester is over I'll have time (and energy) to start cutting these again. I'm just glad that people have been pleased with my work so far.

Not only are we all pleased with your work, but we've nicknamed the knife "The Pinder Knife" in your honor. Great work there man!!! Keep it up.

i like it, sounds like an actual type of knife. "what kind of knife is that?"......"its a pinder knife!" yep works good, or since its cut to be a filet knife could call it a pinder filet knife. hopefully i'll be sendin you a spatula when your services are open again :) all depends on how well my small bone saw replica comes out, but i'm almost positive it will come out pretty much the same as the real deal, only then will i buy back the knives i sold and continue to finish my kill tools. FINALLY! can't wait to get this small bone saw done already, i don't know if i'm going to do this, but was thinking somewhere on the inside of the big grip on the handle up in the top area do this lettering RBTKMR or RBDPPB for like model number/ brand with the initials of the ones who helped make the saw possible, DP and Pitbull. gotta see how difficult it would be to engrave that in that area.

buying materials for the saw tomorrow and starting actual machine work monday, hopefully will have pics by end of next week for the all aluminum one that we are making first until its 100% perfected. same method being used on both tools

I full understand, just let me know when your ready. I've seen the images of the Pinder knives you've already done and they truly great. I can't wait. :)

So getting the endmills for the machines tomorrow, took a bit longer than i thought to get the small bone saw drawn out, especially the blade, going to try to not push the machines too much when cutting everything so it cuts down on having to replace the endmills but they should last long since we are going with the highend ones. but the 2 projects are coming along nicely, and can tell from the drawings, those wanting these kill tools will love them. and going to do a a very small run of all aluminum ones of each to make sure that the angles and everything come out the way we want them and for someone just looking for a cheaper version than the ones with stainless can buy those. stay tuned and sometime this week hopefully if i get all my work done for these damn record labels i will be starting an interest thread for them both. one though I may do a very limited run of since they are going to be a pain to make, but the work my friend has done on previous things in the past has been incredible so these should come out amazing.

****Beware**** Rachiotomy Small Bone Saw scammer on ebay****
So I got very excited today when I was searching on ebay for the rachiotomy saw as I do sometimes hopin I may get lucky (even though i'm making them) and came across an auction that said Rachiotomy Bone Saw and had a pic of it, the exact measurements from thermoscientifics site and was the seller who I purchased my big bone saw from and then the small bone saw substitutes from. I out of shock notified some people, and later on i asked him how he managed to get his hands on these and if he could get more, and he said "i've had them, you bought them from me before" which then I say no, this saw in your auction picture is a different saw than what you sold me. which he replied "whats the difference?" and I sent him pics of them both, saying those that bought these saws thinking they were buying what was pictured need to get their money back since you sold them the wrong item. he then took down the auction and said give me until monday. whatever that means...here is the link of his auction.

Soon I will be posting an interest thread for my small bone saw I'm making once I have one cut and ready to show you all which should be soon. My schedules is not giving me as much time as needed to get to the shop which is only temporary.
But I really need to know one thing so I know if a certain tool will be needed and certain treatments are needed for the stainless steel being used for the blades. Do you all want the teeth on the blades sharp like your big bone saws? If so it will drive the price up. But realize they still will have pointy teeth to give off the same look. Personally I say the latter to keep the price lower. But its your call. So teeth sharpened or not sharpened??

And DP, since your the only one with this saw, and I really don't want to go off the big bone saws handle material as some are polished stainless, some are aluminum. When you get a chance could you check and put a magnet near the grip of the rachiotomy saw to see if its stainless or not? Want to get this as accurate as possible.

Not all stainless steel is magnetic believe it or not. It has magnetic properties but some stainless requires a stronger magnet than others. The handle does say Stainless Pakistan on it.

Yea thats what I saw in the pics. My first big bone saw said the same thing but with a different country on it. I also have seen some handles that dont have anything on them but the blade says where it was made. The new one I have will be the same as far as the stainless handle, so i'm going to go with that kind of stainless for the handles then. Its not like its very dense steel so it probably won't cost much more than the aluminum. But thanks for the info on the stainless how not all of it is magnetic (I was not aware of that), I was thinkin to have you check and if the magnet didn't stick then I would have guessed aluminum. Definitely do learn somethin new every day.
So stainless handles, now need to know if you all interested want to spend extra on having the blades treated and done properly so the teeth are sharp?? anyone??

While I know there is a lot of interest in these saws, I doubt anyone is willing to start voting for options without even seeing any progress. Post up some pics and I'm sure people will jump in.

soon. that is a promise. just lookin for a heads up before i buy the stainless for them since I can't cut the teeth then heat treat it. but i'll just make mine up first with out it being sharp. very very soon.
