I just got a bit of interesting information regarding the watch.
My watch has been in for warranty repair work since mid January. I got it back about 2 weeks ago, finally, and within 2 days it was having the same issues that I originally brought it in for. To make a long story shorter, the jeweler sent it to their "go-to guy" (he actually works out of his house, not some big company) who re-did EVERYTHING and also found out some interesting information...
Apparently my watch is a knockoff from the early 70's. I would guess that is the reason we've seen them with flat (knockoff?) and pointed hour/minute hands. This is just speculation on my part though. The good news is that he said the movement inside actually is all swiss, so it will still keep excellent time. And bonus for me I can pick it up tomorrow. LOL
So, if anyone else is still looking, beware of the possibility of it being a knockoff.
