dexter watch

Didnt you bid on 2 that one and gold one?
Yes, I did not expect to win both auctions. I have already paid for the Stainless one, now I have to figure out how to pay for the gold one. Honestly I do not want it but I do not know what else to do. Where you bidding on them as well?

I bought another Dexter watch and received it last week, my previous one was gold plated. I thought I would take a few photos and in my opinion the trophy box makes a pretty cool background. The hands on my watch are pointed so there is defiantly a lot of slightly different variations of this watch.

I wear mine daily. Occasionally it will stop running. I need to get it cleaned and serviced though. If I'm doing anything where it might get damaged, I take it off.

awesome condition great1, nice score, ebay?, yea there are non pointed hands on gold and stainless ones, i forsome reason think it has to do with the year they were made in or something, but mine has pointed hands and i like them personally better than the flat ones. has the crystal been replaced on yours? cause mine is the original and has no scratches, but when held like yours in your pic it looks like the crystal raises up a bit (even though its not, its just the pic, its the parted where it looks kinda like frosted glass) I love them when their condition is in top form, cause the face really doesnt give off that deep of a goldish color, just a creme. but love this watch, my favorite piece of the collection

Thanks a lot. It was bought on ebay and I paid more then I wanted to but I am extremely happy with it. I don't think the crystal on mine has been replaced but I suppose it is possible or it could be another variation, my gold plated watch had an extremely low crystal that had very little rise to it. The face of my watch has that cream colour you described around the outside of the face but the center of my face has a silver burst.

My watch is for sure one of my favourite items but I have to give a slight edge to my Blood Slide Trophy box made by Jimmy Cosentino.

Very nice watch Great1. Looks to be in perfect shape.

Thanks, it is in pretty good condition with only a few minor scratches.

That is really nice! I believe thats the one from ebay that sold for a little over $600? Great score. I'm glad some of the real Dexter fans are finally getting their hands on these.

yea great1 yours looks like the exact conditioin of mine, but my crystal is flat basically like you said your gold one was, but either way, crystals for these watches are very hard to get ahold of or custom made i have found out, glad mine doesn't have any scratches. And yea Im glad real Dex fans are finally gettin them lately, some go for more than others but thats due to a certain person that bids on every auction and brings the price up to ridiculous amounts and doesn't pay, same person that won mine, same person that bought the gold watch KDB won recently, but this same gold one was posted when i had my original gold one that was replated Fluid now has, and that bidder both bid $455 on both mine and the other sellers auction and won and didn't pay, also had done that on Pinders watch until the seller erased all zero feedback buyers and sold it to him, Pinders will come out awesome too when finished, his frame is in awesome shape, so is the face, and with an overhaul on the movement and crystal, it will also be like new. I wish we could score one like the waltham 25 that isnt the Dex watch, but is brand new in the box, now somethin like that would bring BIG BUCKS. After my kill knives are done Great1 im goin for a trophy box, but as of right now, i just love this watch so damn much, it makes a lot of my friends "fancy watches" look like crap imo

Sadly, I have to sell my watch. It's the only other piece left in my collection I have a shot at getting again (My Alysa doll, blood box, and Kill Tools are coming with me when I'm homeless). I was laid off from work and looking to make December's rent. If anyone is interested PM me.

It'll be on eBay also, but for a higher price to cover fees from eBay and Paypal.

The recent listings have given me some confidence that I should be able to get another one at a later date when I'm at a better place financially.

Sorry for the plugging. Back to nice watch talk.

NOOOO!!! Sorry to hear that, bro. You're right though. There have been enough popping up on ebay that I'm sure you'll be able to find another when you're ready. Still a sad day for the Dexter community.

I love my watch but it's simply not keeping time well. The servicing job I had was inexpensive (maybe that says something) but the movement stops even when I'm actively wearing it and keeping the self winding mechanism rotating.

I'm thinking of doing the unthinkable and swapping the movement with a modern replacement. I believe there are exact-fit Miyota movements out there to fit this common caliber. I just need a chart to find out for sure.

Anyone else interested in doing this and doing a little collaborative research. I suggest keeping the original movement safely if you ever want to sell- but for practical wearing a modern Japanese movement is probably the way to go.

So sorry to hear that tom, it is a shame, but others will come up, and you'll be able to hopefully get one with a dial thats like brand new, i had to sell mine at one point to put some dough in my pocket, but only to have my dad suprise me with another a few days later which was just luck. That the only prop your selling? lol.
@ Nightarcher, a good servicing will usually cost more than $100 and thats just usually oiling, a full reservicing will cost upwards towards $300.

another will come up soon and you will reclaim one. if anyone is more deserving of one its you. like i said, look what happened to me, got in a jam needed to pay some bills, had to sell my first one, but behind my back my dad finds and buys me one.

if anyone wouldnt mind a gold version of the Waltham i can get one for $200 in very good working shape
