Dexter Season 7 and 8

Re: Dexter Season 7

If Dexter is going to end up alive and well with someone, I would rather it be with Lumen than Hannah. Hannah is a complete ***** and a murderer while Lumen was getting back at the guys that tortured her and the other barrel girls. They like to bring back characters every couple of years, so it would not surprise me to see Lumen again since Laguerta is looking into the barrel girls case.

Re: Dexter Season 7

I would like Hannah if she was more like Dexter, killing bad people. But her whole nature takes what it wants is BS, and something Dexter would have never gone for in the past. I think since this is the first time he has truly had feelings for someone he is blinded by how bad she is for him. Hell if she just got pissed at him she could easily just poison him. His guard would be down and not expecting it. Indeed bring back Lumen IMO.

Re: Dexter Season 7

It was the love episode tonight. Man Jennifer Carpenters acting when she told Dex she loved him was amazing.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Hannah has grown on me a bit today. Hope she continues to because I wanted her dead for weeks!!! Laguerta is really onto Dexter! Still live Isaak. Him and Dexter have some great screen time together.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Yea LaGuerta is putting everything together that he is the butcher. I bet she investigates him full time now. There's next seasons arc. I like how Hannah has made Dexter actually start to have feelings for someone. Will be interesting to see how he deals with these new emotions.
One thing with trying to get Isaak is that he is rarely alone, so while he goes for one the other can attack. Didn't see Isaak gettin kicked out of the brotherhood. Quinn should kill George already.
Also when the hell do we get to see some new kill knives?!?! Need more killing.

Re: Dexter Season 7

There hasn't been a kill room all season. No kill tools, no kill room, no blood slides yet and I am still loving this session. I can see the end of episode 12 with Dexter being arrested by Laguerta or Deb killing Laguerta to save Dexter.

Jamie in a bikini was great today also.

I think its so good due to the writing... I had not even noticed about the killing and knives untill you mentioned it.... This season just feels more like Dexter... Im loving it ... I find myself screaming at the tv for Dex to kill Hanna, i am on the edge of my seat with everything that's going on..Funny how good story telling makes you forget about what you love about dex the most.... I think its due to everything being more spread out... It seems like he's been killing although he hasn't... Does that make any sense...

I still want Hannah dead. She is too much like Lila and will kill anyone that gets in her way, including Dexter and Deb. I've been hoping for weeks that Issak would go after her to get back at Dexter and it looks like that is going to happen.

Now we know why Issak took Victor's death so hard, I've been thinking it was what it turned out to be or that they were related.

Now that Laguerta is beginning to suspect Dexter, I'm wondering if she is going to think Deb knows about it and has been protecting him.

It was good to see all three kids in this episode.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Last episode was one of the best so far in this season in my opinion, loved the conversation between Isaac and Dexter, they really click together ! He's likeable, not like the "regular" bad guys from previous seasons.
I, for one, like Hannah. She isn't obsessed with Dexter like Lila was, she just accept him. Lumen couldn't in the end, otherwise she wouldn't have left. Let Dexter be a little bit happy for once ! Plus I missed seeing Strahovsky on TV since Chuck ended (in a disappointing way).

Hannah may accept Dexter, but she has the bad habit of killing people who get in her way. I can really see her trying to kill Deb if she keeps up the investigation into Sal Price.

I'm also hoping we havn't seen the last of Lumen, but that may just be wishful thinking on my part.

Re: Dexter Season 7

That would be interesting if Deb went after Laguerta. The more people she starts to tell like Matthews (even though he is retired) about her investigation the worse off it is for Dexter. If she just up and disappears then all eyes will be on him. This will be what all of season 8 is with this season ending very bad for him.

Re: Dexter Season 7

While I was watching last nights episode, I was having a hard time paying any attention until the scene where Deb told dexter about her feelings. My jaw was literally hanging open through that scene. You have to wonder how much she was pulling from real world emotions with that performance.

And the scene with Dex and Isaac in the bar, I really liked it as well. Especially the point towards the end where Isaac goes to pull out his wallet to pay, and Dex reacts like he pulled out a gun. The look on Isaac's face like "Oh, don't worry, I won't kill you like this..." just made me think how freaking scary he is. It's not an intimidating fear, which doesn't seem to work on me. The confidence in his ability to kill is what would really terrify me.

Probably my favorite episode this season, and that surprised me with my lack of interest at the beginning.

I couldn't convey it in words like you did but that's the reason I love isaak's character so much. He's the only big bad of the series that you feel can actually take Dexter out. Trinity was great, but he never really had the upper hand on Dexter.

Re: Dexter Season 7

And Dexter knows that too which is a big change of pace for him. All the others were nothin compared to Isaaks role of a hardcore killer. Yes they some of them (Trinity, ITK) had their own morbid/ creepy factor but not like this. None of the big bads would have survived that bar shoot out I don't think. I like how Dexter realized he was messin with the wrong dude at te crime scene when he had that look on his face saying along the lines of "one efficient killer"

Re: Dexter Season 7

I really don't know where they are going to take the Deb/Dex story line. I get the feeling that it's going to be summarily dropped after that disclaimer Deb gave; "I was".

I was actually more shocked that Viktor turned out to be Izzak's lover. The hints at their relationship really did not indicate that at all. In that photo they really only looked like they were father and son. If anything I like that angle more than the father/son one. It makes the Hannah character far more relevant. Not that she wasn't already.

And is Astor 15 going on 40? The hairstyle, make-up, clothes choices there made her look far older than she really is.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Maybe older than the character, but the actor is probably in her mid teens at this point.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Yeah, i'm pretty sure she's playing here actual age. But she just looks SO much older.

I didn't think that i'd be looking at Astor in a mere two seasons and going "Damn, girl!"

I'm going to Hell.

That bar scene was great. Despite the fact that no one was killed and there was no action, I think it is one of the best scene's of the series. You could tell that both of them almost regreat the fact that one of them is going to have to kill the other. I also agree that Issac is the best bad guy Dexter has ever faced.

I'm going into withdrawls over no real kills lately, the hitman doesn't cound since it was more or less self defense. We need to have a good old fasioned Dexter kill sometime soon.

I saw on IDBM that Erik King is going to be in the last episode of the season as Doakes. I always liked the Doakes character and wished he didn't have to die. I'm thinking this can't be anything good as far as Dexter is concerned.

And that's the real difference between Isaak and every other "big bad" in previous seasons. They were determined, arrogant, and a little crazy, but they didn't exude confidence the way Stevenson portrays Isaak. The "bar conversation" scene was interesting--there's a level of mutual respect between them, perhaps even a casual friendliness, yet you know neither of them would hesitate killing the other if the opportunity presented itself.

Re: Dexter Season 7

I finally saw Ray Stevenson in the Punisher last night and everytime he killed someone, I kept on seeing Issak. I actually think he is more menacing in Dexter than he was in the Punisher, but either way he is a badass.
