Derren Brown - The great art robbery

What's funny to me is that as a former illusion designer, I caught the switch of the 1st painting, and when it looked like the episode was ending without him revealing that, I thought to myself, "Hmmm...well, I guess I was wrong." Then, BOOM! He adds his little coda on the end, and I breathed a sigh of relief knowing I wasn't going crazy, but the lack of an initial reveal did fool me, which is a nice feeling after so many years of not being fooled by much.

I really enjoyed this, I don't think it was as powerful as "The Secret of Luck" in terms of its messaging. (Which was a bit ham fisted in the way it pushed the whole "Old people are important message) That said, it was a REALLY enjoyable watch and even knowing things that a lay audience wouldn't know, it had me on the edge of my seat during the heist.

...and me falling off my seat, laughing when the pensioners were arrested. :lol

The thing I think I enjoyed the most as a magic nerd was him bringing back his "Card Under Box" effect, which -- to my knowledge -- he has not performed publicly in the last 10 years, since he switched over to his current act.

All in all, a fun, entertaining show.

It was okay, I didn't feel it was his best show but it was entertaining and I like that acknowledges older people and portrays them in a positive light... well stealing isn't positive but he reminds us that retirement doesn't mean the end to enjoying your life.
