Denix based Blaster help/advice needed on barrel shortening

Hi guys asking for help/advice again, I picked up this Denix based blaster off ebay & was hoping to shorten the barrel to make it a little better but now I've got it in hand it looks like the flash hider has been fixed with maybe some sort of epoxy, can anyone give me any advice on how this might be able to be removed or even if it's worth messing with or maybe there's someone in the UK that could help.

Well unfortunately heating it up didn't work.

epoxy can be brittle. I usually throw things in the freezer, but since you only need the one part removed.... maybe hit it with too much keyboard duster? A good whack from a rubber mallet and some twisting should get it off though
