So Usually I make my costumes, but I wanted to invest more my time and money in my Halloween displays I like to go all out on for our parties and so I am probably going to take a shortcut and try to stay away from an intricately detailed costume this year and go kinda simple.
I'm THINKING of maybe doing the Jigsaw costume. I saw some posts online for an Adult Deluxe Costume. It's not too cheap in price for a store costume... runs about $130-$160, but this is the only picture I can find of it:
Do you think this looks like a costume that could be modded a bit, like painting up the mask a bit and roughing up the hair to be more realistic? I can tell the robe looks thinner than the movie one, but from the PHOTO it looks like a decent costume. Also can't tell if that's the Don Post mask or the cheaper one? One photo doesn't tell me a whole lot
Has anyone seen this thing in person and does it even look close to anything like the one in the photo?
These costume companies I have seen can sure make some crappy costumes look really nice and I just wanted to know if anyone's seen this in person if it would be a decent rendition from the movie outfit.
Thanks much for the advice! I'm not a real advocate of store bought costumes, but being as it's rather expensive I wondered if better quality was put into this or if it's just because of the possibly expensive licenses put forth to make this available.
My gut tell me that I should maybe just get the nicer mask, mod it and then make my own robe out of heavier materials. Still shouldn't cost that much to make. Just don't have many photo references of the costume.
