Definitive Clockwork Orange Costume

Doddsino - the third one is the nearest, yes. Same shaped pockets and yoke. You could either cut the collar off or turn it in and stitch it.
If you're stuck for time and resources too... a pair of Doc Martens is a very close substitute for genuine Corcorans. Very similar design.
Corcorans having a seam across the toecap, whereas Docs are plain is the major difference that immediately springs to mind. I have a pair of both, so will post pictures for your reference tomorrow. (Just about to head for bed right now!) :0)

There's a pair of Corcorans I'm watching on Ebay at the moment that look pretty similar. A lot of the Corcorans look pretty good for the most part, the only differences that directly stand out that I've come across have been the soles and the zippers. I don't think at this time I want to go over $50 for the boots since I still have to get the shillelagh (another item that's difficult to get right for a cheaper price). I might do the same thing that NoTsOsErIoUs did and just paint one that is similar in shape. The knob at the top is tough to be accurate, since it does look like they may have used more than one in the movie since it looks different in a couple of scenes. Also, there aren't any back pockets on his pants, are there?

There is one back pocket on the right side.
The closest I've come across are British Naval officers trousers, they show up on ebay now and again.

Hi Grant.
I had intended to submit it into Reel Icons in the UKG, but after checking, it no longer falls under their remit unfortunately.

Is that right? If so I'm kind of glad I left when I did. I mean they were always pretty fair to me, but if that's how they've become. What is the problem? Do they consider the costume no longer as iconic as they did up to a year or so ago? :confused

No it's nothing sinister or anything. I'm totally ok with it and it's understandable, just means I'll have to find a different outlet for Alex. :0)

Thanks again guys. Do you know what general fields I should search under as far as the pants go? Are those typical of military pants? I doubt I'm going to find much by searching only by pocket locations. :p

New Miltec White German Naval Trousers, Great for Fancy Dress - Surplus and Outdoors

Any variation on white naval pants should throw up similar results. They appear to be pretty close. As for the actual pants Malcolm wore, does anyone have any idea? I'd be tempted to think along the lines of cricket pants, although now they'd probably be vintage ones. I think bowling (as in lawn - not ten pin) trousers are probably the same nowadays.
Maybe Notsoserious can shed any light on this?

LOL how much?

Actually, on second thought, while it might be cooler, I think I gotta have this costume done by the 20th. But I do appreciate the second opinion. Feel free to take a pic of it though, I may have a friend who is interested.

Ok. Things coming along nicely now. Just thought I'd give an update of where I'm at.
Hopefully my shirt should be back from the seamstress at some point in the coming week, but here's what I have now...

Hat, maskie, eyeballs and eyelashes. The eyelashes have bits of glitter on which I will remove after I've trimmed the lashes to get the correct amount and spacing to the film.
The wig pictured I'm not actually going to use. It's the wrong colour and looks a bit cheap for my liking and there isn't really enough to play with if I want to re-style it. I shall probably cut my own hair to match.

Pants, boots, braces and cane. I just need to sew a couple more buttons on the pants for the brace loops.

My first attempt at the codpiece. Now, I'm not happy with this at all. I just couldn't get the fabric taut enough over the groin guard before I stuck it down and it has subsequently creased and folded more than I would like. This is unpainted at the moment, but I like the way the glue I used has weathered the material and made it look grubby.
Regardless, I shall probably scrap this and start afresh with a different shaped codpiece.

Thoughts?:confused

That looks awesome, Hedgehog. Are those the same pants you recommended from the surplus site? Do they not come with buttons for the braces? It looked like they did.

Also, I should have waited before I bought a hat, the auction you posted is quite lovely and cheaper than I paid. Oh well.

The thing that annoys me about most shillelaghs I've come across, while I can easily find ones that look fairly identical, most of them are crooked. I recently bought one that kind of slopes a bit. Is there any way to warp the wood, any solution I could put it in to straighten it out? I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask.
