Death Star - Replica Tower Construction Tile

Always loved this tile from Jedi - so I decided to have a go at re-creating the general feel of it - way too impossible to 'exactly' make it match the original.
I used a bunch of different photo-etch brass components to replicate the look and feel of all the under-construction elements of this tile. What really made it fun was I used some bits and parts from Grant McCune's shop that I acquired many years ago. So some of the under frame styrene and other bits came directly from ILM heritage :)

The two resin towers are castings taken directly from an original tile (thank you Jason Eaton/Mike Salzo!), then I built up the basic frame of the tower and added all the brass, and moved onto the other metal elements. So here is the 'under construction' pics, next up will be the fully painted/assembled model.

Thanks!

Great job done on your flak towers. Similar to those made by Germany to defend their major cities from bombing during WW2. Another indication of Star Wars and ILM’s reference homework.

That is awesome!

Also, visually it reminds me of playing the Atari video game in the 1980's. Once you broke level 13, iirc, you got to play for free for the rest of the day. I once spent one quarter on a three-hour game in middle school, much to the annoyance of my classmates at the video arcade.
