... (oh yeah, and the rest of you too!)

As most of you know, we started a campaign last night to get 1000 followers on Facebook and 500 followers on Twitter by the end of the month... 29 days from now.

Here we are... almost 24 HOURS into it and thanks to an absolutely overwhelming response (and a generous mention by Adam on Twitter) we are currently sitting at 878 Facebook followers and 540 followers on Twitter!!!

:cheers

To say we are blown away by the overwhelming response is quite the understatement!

While we don't expect every day through the end of the month to be like today, given the overwhelming success we have seen so far, we are upping our goals to 1500 followers on Facebook and 750 followers on Twitter!

Please help support us by suggesting the Replica Props Forum Facebook page to your prop/costume/modeling friends on Facebook and by tweeting about us (including our Twitter ID, replicaprops) on Twitter.

Thanks again to everyone, especially Adam, for the kind words and support!

With this being said, I want to briefly touch on a couple of issues that have been brought up.

First, a few people have asked, "why are you bothering with Facebook and Twitter?"

While there are a lot of reasons we could state, including the fact that Twitter and Facebook are the faster growing forms of social media and our best opportunity of sharing our love of props with others, I think VoiceintheCrowd summed it up well in one of his comments hoping that by doing this we will bring even more talented artists to the site!

Additionally, some have voiced some concern about overexposure and about the content we are pushing out to Facebook and Twitter. Ultimately, we hope to mainly push original content out to these sources, but for now the primary source are threads generated by you. While some have actually ASKED to have their threads posted to Facebook, others have expressed some reservations. This is sure to be an area that will take some trial and error but for now we are taking the following approach for anyone whose thread is showcased on our Facebook/Twitter page.

While the RPF retains the rights granted by its members in section 5 of the site’s Terms of Service, we do recognize that some members might want topics kept on the board alone.

If you are the OP (Original Poster) of a thread that has been showcased on the RPF’s Facebook/Twitter pages and would like your thread removed from Facebook/Twitter, please email us at help@therpf.com with your request and we will remove the post at Facebook/Twitter.

Please note, this is a per-incident policy. We will not accept blanket or preemptive requests not to repost content.

Please be aware that while we may be able to remove posts on Facebook, if a post has been retweeted on Twitter, we may not be able to eliminate all instances of the content.

Please be aware that removing a post from Facebook/Twitter will not limit Google’s ability to index this site and potentially make your content available through its search engines.

Thanks again for your support and we look forward to seeing you here as well as at other social media sites!
