Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

Just look at the faces on those figures,......Leia looks beautiful,....the Alec Guinness is incredible,.....the stitching of the material breaks the scale spell

Its the eyes that gives them life

Yeah I knew this plaque that's why I precised it is 1/12 because what's written is wrong. :)
I was thinking it was smaller that 1/6...but again..The back to the future car next to it is 1/6 and the Tie is crushing it :)

Yet...Chewie looks bad...everything else is pure magic..

I could never understand the design of the TIE fighter... here you got a central round section and two walls of wings on both sides. You would think they would at least make them transparent so you could see thru them enough to see if anyone is coming at you from the side! But as it is, it's like driving a car with the side windows blacked out.

Also consider the gunner stations on the MF. I saw a diagram somewhere recently that suggested the gunner's field of vision can cover almost all of the top or bottom, almost straight out to the side. But in reality, the field is quite limited to what's little more than straight out--and ANH suggests they pretty much shoot at what they can see. Beautiful designs, but real world engineering doesn't have to make sense. It would almost be claustrophobic to fly the TIE. And without sensors (I'm thinking of a system like they have on the Joint Strike Fighter), you would get the worst kind of tunnel vision.

So your saying despite what's written it's a 1/12???? So it's made for 6" figures????

Looking at this picture it sure looks like the cockpit is plenty big for a 12" figure when compared to the Falcon cockpit next to it.

Maybe I am misunderstanding?????

Again looking at this pic, agreeing that the Falcon cockpit is 1/6 I don't see how anyone could say the Tie is 1/12 ??? The cockpit is clearly the correct size for a 12" figure. Look at the Falcon and then the Tie.????

It's 1/6th for sure... However I would say there are some photos that made me think it was smaller...but if you compare to the falcon cockpit and the Back 2 the future car...You can see its 1/6 scale for sure... That being said...I sure "IF" this ever really comes out (see 1966 batmobile) that the ship will be a lot smaller...I hope not...
This photo you posted here looks like a slam dunk for saying its 1/6 too.

Yep

On the Deago for USA makers did we decide what the best glue is??? Will superglue work or is there a better option???

I know it was discussed but I have no idea on what page.

Thanks

Tom

CA is the best glue according to Steve.

Is the name just CA???

Thanks
CA = Cyanoacrylate if i'm not mistaken... so its sold under many different brands...it's pretty much super glue :)

For me, I always love Zap-A-Gap (CA+ Green) for everything...super sticky! :)....but I don't claim to be the expert on the subject compared to the other model masters in here :)

Yeah it looks bigger in the last pic, however should be almost as tall as a regular guy would be, and it looks way smaller.
I'm not arguing the fact they've put a 1/6 figure but the TIE itself looks smaller, if you want maybe 1/10, 1/8 at the most but no way it's 1/6. Dont forget that every kit manufacturer got his own idea of what would be a TIE in real life (compare the 1/72 Bandai and FM TIEs). The only true reference is the filming miniatures !

As long as you get it from a hobby store ....just plain old super glue from the market sucks :)

Green Zap-A-Gap is my glue! It's a little bit thicker than normal Super glue.

I think depending on a surface roughness you may want to use gel, normal or water thin.

I'm lost on how this doesn't look 1/6 scale.. I think you'd have to post some kinda scale blueprint with a dude standing next to it for scale. Looking at my EFX tie fighter and that photo...using Han in the cockpit as reference...its seems to look right to my eyes. Maybe we will just have to agree to disagree. If the ship were bigger..the pilot would be a mini-me.... Guess if this ever really comes out (which I seriously doubt) we will have to measure it and then we will know for sure :)

I like it thick because its a little easier to control..and you avoid trouble :)

I highly recommend Zap-A-Gap CA Glue... works wonderfully and is a little thicker then normal CA glue... also has a bit of a longer set time for working the parts into position.

If you can't find the new Tamiya stuff, try the Plastic Magic from Deluxe Materials. It's thin, works with capillary action, and is a solvent cement that works on the ABS plastic via weld action. It works a treat! :D
