Listening to that link and hearing his real voice, I swear at first it sounded like Rick Moranis for a moment. :lol Hell, even HE sounded more menacing under his "Darth Helmet" mask when he was doing the deeper voiced parts.

Ah no wonder why he's banned. Woolen accessories don't sell well in Florida, especially in August. :lol

Doesn't all this animosity from Lucas go back to a pre-ESB release interview where David spilled some info about the film? Not the Vader as Luke's father as he was given different dialogue in his scripts.

I think it was pre ROTJ. Dave gave away the secret that Vader dies. His story to this day is that he never actually just came out and said Vader died but he was given the question - Does Darth Vader die? by a tabloid journalist and as he was put on the spot his reply pretty much gave the game away.

Either way Lucas was furious it made the papers before the film came out.

I remember reading that back in the day. He gave away the whole ending. Not just saying Vader dies. He mentioned killing The Emperor, etc.:rolleyes

Interesting, makes you wonder if Lucas considered dropping Prowse before Jedi in light of his Empire flub. I guess that decision too could have had it's own publicity risks.
