Darth Maul: Sith Acolyte?

Normally I HATE the stupid non-canon add-on armour that can come with some Star Wars figures, but I kinda like this one (Hasbro Hero Series 12" figure) - it's pretty Sith Acolyte looking. Needed a bit of a repaint though...

Inspired by the Sith Acolyte armour I went for darkened metal:

I chuckled when I saw that original figure's armor, but my god is that an INCREDIBLE paint job that turned me from laughing at that armor to wishing I could see that on screen. I applaud your paint skills and your foresight to see that a figure such as that could be turned into such a better looking piece with your paint work.

Yeah, that red armor just looks goofy, but that new paint job really makes it an awesome piece.

That paint job worked wonders on it, it went from looking like sports gear to actual working armor.

Fan friggin' tastic!!! That figure looks gorgeous, beautiful work sir! i started looking at these recently, and they are very nicely done, and with a bit of tlc, they can be really striking. I've been re-working Rey from this series, and with the leg joints filled in, and her weird thumbs redone, arms slightly bent, and those ridiculous sideburns turned into wisps of hair, it's turning out really nice! Thanks for sharing, it's really inspirational
