A nice start? I'd say that having an original to work from is the cherry on top.
Great job. It's a VERY hard costume to do because the black on black makes the details very hard to see.
Do you plan to "troop" in it as well? I'd love to see it walking around at C4.....

I'm kinda picky about my costume.. I'll hold out untill I can get the correct FT boots. If I'm going to spend the money, it will be on the originals. I almost had a cheap pair once, but they would have been too big for me so I passed them up... (Maybe I should've got them.)

I'm sure you've seen(or even own) the lifesize promo statue of Maul. How accurate is the costume on that compared to the original?
Don't suppose you'll be offering complete or even parts of the Maul costume in the future would you?

Nice looking suit you've got going there. One of the best I've seen. If you want to do an outer robe, check with SithVixen. Her Darth Maul robe is pretty spot on my opinion.

Not just yet. Although I have to say from what I've seen it's going to knock your socks off if you're a maul fan.

Unfortunately, there is nothing about the promo maul statue that is correct. Fabrics nor patterns. My friend has one and its great for a display piece, but nothing like the original costume.

For now, that is uncertain.

I can't take that much credit for it though, everything was right there in the original that we ever needed. Can't ask for better than exact patterns and fabrics from an original.
