Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

Anyway another piece of update.

Scrapped the idea of the flaps. Way to much problems as the rubber doesn't have the strength to hold the motor's weight and it bends whenever the flaps open. So what do I do? I glue them back hehe.

I'll just wait for the ver2 and have it motorized.

Hope ya'll like it. Love the files Darkside. Really love them. :love

This is nice Kabayan! I'll try making my movable flaps too when I'm done with my Mk VI. Will probably wait for Ver 2 files :)

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

OK, I couldn't wait for the version 2 files so I started with the version 1 files. :lol I figured that this will give me practice for when I start working on the version 2 files, when they are released. Thanks again Darkside!

hey dude, i live in the philippines and i'm having a problem about the resin. I look for it in every hardware that i know here in our place but i couldn't find one. I know that you live in the philippines too, so may i know what is the name(brand name) of the resin that you are using to harden your pepakura suit?

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

Hi, I'm completely new to this pepakura business and this thread and your work Darkside has been incredibly useful and helpful! I'll post a few pics of my current progress for anyone interested but I have a few queries about the design of many parts?
I'm currently building up the abs and each ab section is in many separate pieces, some of this may be necessary for actually making it wearable, but I was wondering what process should be used for sticking it all together? Glueing it without numbers, attaching during the fibreglass stage, or using and array of buckles at the end? Haha!

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

question guys I have my whole upper body section of the armor done and my biggest concern is how to rig the abs to stay on. I thought of using a strip down the center of the back with velcro on it to attach the abs in the back but any other ideas are welcome guys. I really need to figure out the rigging for it.

An official HALL OF ARMOR Pic was Released:

Cant make much out... In the 2nd Movie he had the Battle Damaged suits.
I Guess he's not doing that anymore. Only keeping suits that are 100%.

Anyway, Darkside, How's the Version 2 coming?

U fiber glass or foam.. Coz foam its easy for me to flex in it.. But fiber glass im not sure

Well the Mark 3 is very damaged in this picture, it's more likely he repairs the newer suits just in case. After all, as we saw in the 2nd movie he gives them their own power supply. I assume after the first movie fiasco with Obidiah stealing his Arc Reactor he would keep past suits/Arcs as back-ups, so he would keep them repaired. The Mark 5 is a portable suit, so it's no surprise he would keep that one ready to go. The Mark 4 is his main suit, so it should still be in working condition, the Mark 7 seems more like a heavy duty suit he will only be using in extreme cases. And if memory serves, the Mark 4 didn't really sustain any damage other then the fight with Rhody, so I can't imagine it would be very battle damaged since after that fight the Mark 2 didn't have a scratch on it.
