It's amazing how you can still sneak a camcorder into a movie theatre...

you'd think they'd be prepared for that.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

lol not a camcorder in the cinema, just find gif and other image on the net, I look for against the film twice and strongly Quej e is the book dedicated to the film and the mark 7 in France, because too much detail was awesome :)

Hello Darkside, I had a quick question about the version 1 Upper forearm and lower forearm. Are they symmetrical, or do I have to invert the pattern, I have the same question about the boot as well. Thanks for everything! Mike

The Boots, and all the arm parts are perfectly symmetrical. No inverting needed.

Also, I have already inverted all the parts that need to be inverted. You can find the inverted Shin and Thigh with the others.

This is a fantastic thread... Can't wait to get started on my own build.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

I decided to start this build and have it done by Otakon. The files are super great, thanks to everyone who has contributed and the people who have posted progress are a great help as well!

Finally started mine..well the leg. looking forward to how itll turn out once i harden it like my helmet. Hope I'm doing your design justice Darkside. Heres some pics on what i got so far srry that pics arent clear and Anyone interested on making their foam armor more rigid check Xrobots thread on plastic coating heres the link....http://www.therpf.com/f24/how-plastic-coat-foam-costume-pieces-146539/

I find a large portion of the back is pointless to make if you just cover them with the flaps, unless you want to make the flaps come up. It saves time though to avoid the underside and just attach the flaps as your building the back.

Love the models!

JFcustom... sorry you got a little slap on the hand for your threads on my files. I think everything will be ok though now since you put my user name back on the modified files.

If you guys haven't seen JFcustom's foam templates and building techniques then go check out his threads. He takes the stuff STEATH showed us to another level by pre-combining the templates and cutting the foam pieces to avoid as many seams as possible. Also, what few seams are left are mostly invisible. Pretty cool stuff for foam builds and fast too.

Doc, that is looking good. I can't wait to see more. Listen up everyone... that helmet is a foam helmet! Look at the awesome finish!!! It looks almost as good as a pepakura build.

Doc, keep up the good work and thanks for posting here.

Still waiting for news on the ver2...

anyway let me share what I have been playing with Darkside's mk7 back file.
This ain't painted yet, just prototyping stuff for a while now. :)

Hope ya'll like it.

It is gonna be a little while on the version 2 files... I will release them all at the same time to make sure that everything is just right. ;)

Your motorized flaps are looking pretty good. Looking forward to your next update.

Thanks bro, I didn't even think about not using the flaps... I will keep that in mind and I might make a plain-jane back file on my version 2 files.
