Dark Knight Trilogy Collection-Last Pg-The JOKER

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.5*

Thanks for the comments.
The Bob Dullam begins torso, legs, and cowl are all made out of foam.

Finally a question about the straight jacket! I was kind of proud of that one. I contacted a straight jacket maker online (no joke) and had them custom make the jacket using photos from the touring suit on display.

Thanks for your response! :) What's the difference between urethane and foam latex bat suits?

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.5*

Hmmm,,,right off the bat (no pun intended) the biggest difference is price..lol. Foam is alot more expensive. Foam is what the actual bat suits were made from in the movie. I would also hazard a guess and say that foam is not as durable as urethane. I think I put this suit on once to try it, then put it on display. Its not something I'd want to be wearing out anywhere with kids poking at it. I will say though, the suit, and in particular the cowl are extremely smooth to the touch. It almost feels like a layer of feathers against your face, and is extremely comfortable. Foam is also pretty flexible. The cowl actually will contour to your face and move with your expressions, whereas urethane is rigid. Also the foam is pretty rare. I've only met one person that makes these suits and I don't even know if he does them anymore. I think overall foam is great for a display piece or maybe a cowl. If I was to buy something that I wanted to last through repeated wearings and perhaps abuse, I'd definately go with urethane.
Hope that helps!

Yeah, this thread is great. Didn't know how I miss this. That room is filled with epicness!

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.6*

Thanks. Too bad I can't add audio to this thread. I actully borrowed thegreatgalling's idea and have speakers set up through the room, behind each of the 1:1 displays, so that they can "talk" to each other.

Great stuff!

Since you're interested in the stories behind the viral stuff, you might like to know that it was me that was given the Dork Knight trailer here in the U.K. and told to go to the Liecester Square Odeon London and give the film to the projectionist. Not that it means much but there you go.
In hindsight I wonder what everyone would have done if I'd just done a runner with the trailer? Unfair but very Joker.

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.6*

Very cool story. I do in fact like to hear the stories behind the viral events. That must have been pretty cool and tempting to have that trailer in your hand. I heard a rumour that each Dork Knight trailer are alittle different. Supposedly the lightsabres are a different colour in each one. No idea if thats true. Mine has never been played. I actually talked to the winner of the trailer in the U.K as well.

My good friend, you have waaaay too much stuff... and really cool stuff at that. Are you sure you need more? :lol

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.6*

Wow. What is your address and where do you hide the spare key outside?

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.6*

Ha, no spare key. However you'll have to jump over a giant moat and through a giant waterfall to get to the undergroud lair. Good luck!

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.6*

I love the pumpkin. Every Halloween I am kind of compelled to carve my pumpkins that way. Using a re-usable carving pumpkin looks like a great idea though!

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.6*

Thanks as always for the comments and for checking in on my thread! I'm going to do a bit more work on the pumpkin. Spray paint the inside a lighter orange, change the candle, and maybe dirty up the outside a bit more. Ya, I went with the reusable pumpkin so that I could keep it year round and have it with my viral collection.

Re: Nolan themed Batman Prop Room *update pg.6*

Thanks for taking the time to comment! Much appreciated! I'd reeeeally like to some how add more decor to the room, like some sort of back drop behind the characters, just not too sure how to go about it. Perhaps a rocky/batcave backdrop behind batman, an arkham type wall behind scarecrow...etc. I wouldn't want anything permanent, but maybe something like photographers use for backdrops...still looking for ideas...
