We are just about done with our Bane mask. We have been working on it for the past two months and we are about to mold it and then make it a urethane mask. We'll still need about a week to figure out the correct paint colors but we are very excited.

Looks very good. Did you get the details toward the back where the "anesthetic" is dispensed from?

Assuming this is the same GothamCityFX on eBay, I bought their Dark Knight cowl and neck guard and their urethane work is top notch. Some tiny tiny imperfections on the urethane but barely noticeable unless you look really hard.

    Kev,
:behave You know I love the panther pulls, they were clean and blemish free, really worked out well for my display. I saw a few people on the other board really rave about it too. I can't wait to get that cowl and undersuit so I can finish my begins suit.

As for Bane, I powder coated the mold tonight and we are going to paint our first one tomorrow, trying some acetone reduced vita 40 with pigment to see how well it will stick, otherwise I'll with to smooth-sil 940/950 and use pycho paint and toluene....gotta love the experiment stages of this work

I gotta send one of these bane badboys your way soon

I just have one question is this going to be a full mask, or just the breathing device part of the mask.

Its a full mask, though if someone wanted they could simply trim away the bane part and leave the breathing device intact.

I do plan on posting some pics in my deviantart profile, right now I haven't sculpted much, well the only real help I need is with the materials, I have latex and resin available but that's pretty much what I have but to be honest I sure could use some help thanks.

to be even more honest I'm not sure how to make a thread.

hey GCFX, awesome mask. I noticed it on you-know-where. I think you have too much green in the paint job, the mask in the movie is a lot darker, almost black. Could you take a picture of yourself wearing it too?

    Adam,

The trailers show bane mainly in dark places, hence dark looking mask. If you pull up behind the scenes images from him in the daylight at the pittsburg stadium you'll see the green much clearer.

True. It is pretty green, I know that - but it is still a lot darker than the shade you have painted. Here's a pretty clear photo in daylight that shows his mask compared to his green vest.

Hi, just joined up.Been lurking on this forum for to long. I have been working on parts of the Bane costume for some time now.Should be ready to show some pics soon.
It has now become a bit of a passion to get things accurate. Spend the whole of the prologue trying to check for any details i may have missed.
Great mask by the way.But have to say it is to green. When i saw it i thought fantastic job, cant wait to see it when the paint work is finished.

What are you using to paint the mask since it is urethane?

We acetone the urethane first, then mix our acrylics to the correct shades, paint several coats, then a flexible sealer. Ive taken the mask and twisted and bend it to hell and the paint does not peel, though a strong sharp fingernail can cut through the sealer and paint, so keep your wive's cat claws away from it.

I didn't say it was black, I said almost black. It's a dark green for sure, which is all I meant.
