hey Guys,
First post so go easy on me
This Halloween I really wanted to put together a Bane Costume since I thought it was an awesome costume (as did everyone else for that matter).
I'll start by saying this build is not 100% accurate, sadly I did it on a bit of a budget and wasn't able to invest in all the proper materials BUT I did manage to make one that I was satisfied with and given that I had maybe 2 weeks to work on it for only a few hours a day I was satisfied overall.
The Mask was purchased for me by my friends and I think it's an AWESOME mask. I think the post office did some serious damage though cause it was really scuffed and scratched up when I got it so I had to repaint/detail it a bit to make it fitting. I also fitted the back with some fabric to make the mask sit tighter.
The rest i just simply looked at pictures from the movie and just did it by freehand with needle, thread and a sewing machine (and an old backpack).
Again not 100% accurate but it definitely did well enough to win me 2nd place in a costume contest.

I basically looked at the images I saw online and figured what kind of shaped 'pads' I could need for the ab/sides and the traps for the vest.
After I figured that out, with some trial and error I just marked the inside of the fabric with chalk and set the patterns out.
After that I started to cut just shy of the edges to sew it and give it that 'puffy' look when I pushed the pieces through with lining.
So this is where I used the lining for the inside of the vest to measure out where I'd have to cut.
I'm REALLY bad at explaining this lol I'm reading it over and i'm cringing but hopefully this makes sense to you guys. I wish I took a video.
Anyway I had an old backpack with the straps and buckles on it so I used those to make the front straps and connect it. The vest actually is held together on the sides by Velcro that's hidden and then you tie the back patch (which I dont' currently have a pic of yet but I will if people want) and then used leather laces to tighten the mid section pieces together.

Yes I realize Bane's not asian lol but I think overall it worked. The hardest part for me was that I had to change my weight and my diet to get bigger for Bane.
I normally walk around at about 180 to 185 lbs but I bulked up to 195 for Bane. I'm also a personal trainer so the workout/eating wasn't hard to figure out, just finding the time between my work and making sure that I was putting on good size and not just getting fat was the hard part. For the working out prep, I did it 3 months out of halloween so around ed of july beginning of august is when my bulking phase started.
Random shot my buddy took post workout after I finally shaved my head week before halloween.
I know I have a shot of me with a fur coat somewhere... But I'll find it lol
