The blue box/whatever it is on the front part is also a Velleman part. Cheapest kit I found that had one of these blue boxes on the circuit board was the

Price $8.29

To be movie accurate- You'll have to remove the white design on the far lefthand side of it. Nail polish remover might work.

Pretty sure the Antenna is from a walkie talkie brand like Motorola.

Keys are on threaded bolts- Wish we could figure out the exact makes of those.

the LED lights on the Decision Maker are to small to match the ones seen on the front part.

You'll need to go and get the
Valleman MK152 WHEEL OF FORTUNE
for those LED's.

Have fun! And if you find the make of the Key, Antenna, or any other gribleys please share the info here.

I think the jokers was rocking the same stuff only difference was a change in wire set up/lights/ and component layout and an extra key for both ships.

This is an amazing research thread!!!!

That was one of the props from the movie that I wanted to build.

Looks like all that is left to figure out is the keys and the type of duct tape :)

In this pic, you can see the switch Joker uses to turn on the green light:

EDIT: should've read the above post! :lol

Very nicely done with the research, I was just watching the dvd and thinking that would be a cool prop to re-create!

I'm pretty sure I've come across that style of key before, I'm trying to dig out my key catalogues right now, if I find anything I'll let everyone know... I may even have something suitable here, somewhere :confused

I've gone through 100 or so pages so far and came up with these, they're all aftermarket and don't have the same markings as the screen used one but the shapes aren't too far off.

They all fit the Lowe & Fletcher locks. There's a bunch of them here, click camlocks on the left, you'd just need to pull the cam off (which should just be held on with a nut).
I'll keep hunting for more.

but is it functional?
I mean will it send a signal to blow up the other boat
or is it really gonna blow up my boat?

I think anyone can make these. The poster of the thread was generous to share the info he supplied and thats great info. The units as a whole seem like a great $30-ish prop for anyone to do in a weekend. After the Holidays I know I'm going to make one for myself, so I'll post it here.
I personally dont know too much about electronics, so maybe someone with better knowledge can give a few pointers to us making our own? I would be greatly appreciated.

Each Velleman Mini Kit comes with build instructions. I guess what we are looking for is a way to activate a green led light (using the on switch sounds cool to me) Then all that is left- even though we didn't see it happen on film, make the turning of the key activate the red light.

I looked over the Joker's Master Remote. I have the film in 1080p and I'm going thorough it frame by frame and it's really hard to make out cause you only see the Jokers briefly and he's waving it around.

If I find the Velleman stuff used for any parts of it I'll let you guys know.

I'm surprised that even in 1080p that I can't make out the words on the keys.

The Antenna is a stubby style UHF "Green Color Code" (Hence the Green band near the bottom)- I still haven't found the correct maker.

Thanks for the Thanks.

Thats the one I'm going to get, it looks the closest that I have found, and that box can be removed leaving the parts needed for the replica.

Velleman HAA80 Remote Control Panel Switch

I can find any images of the key...... but seeing as how this kit is set up to directly allow the key to change the light sequence from red to green. With that wiring most likely connected to the threaded bolt on the lock.

I'm going to say theres a good chance that this is where the part came from. It ain't cheap. Prices range from $28-$38
You wouldn't need the LED game for those leds if you bought this, so you could minus that from the overall cost.
