Daredevil: Working Grapples. A 2nd look

I could go on and on about the mechanics, the internals are awe inspiring and a feat of engineering, but I also really appreciate the craftsmanship that went into laying in the veneers and really making them look like wood. I'm more of a comic book DD fan than I was of the movie, but I'm jealous of those who were able to get in on these back in the day.

These are really spectacular pieces, thanks for sharing the progress pics.

Thanks again guys.

Note: For everyone painting up their own clubs, here's the the recipe for that DD red finish. I got this straight from the original prop maker:

1) Minwax red mahogany stain over real mahogany veneer.
2) Testors Candy Apple red over the stain
3) Multiple coats of clear acrylic. (I like Krylon tripple glaze)

Well, I don't know about all that, but thank you.

Just leave some burnt offerings and fresh fruit by the shop door and I'll make sure the rains come in time for the crops. :thumbsup

I got a 6 foot buddah thing that I can lend you to receive said offerings. :lol Still have to take a pic of that

Thanks for the rain today while I was doing a 40 miler :unsure :D

Rylo: I wanted to use my Daredevil grappling hook in my quest to fight crime as the "Fist of Justice".

Do you recommend your Daredevil hook as a means of scaling rooftops? :behave

I was lucky enough to snag one of these beauties way back when, however the version i picked up was the nunchuck version that connected to make a kali stick. it's still one of the nicest props in my collection. What i always found really cool about it was the fact that apparently the angel and devil face on the movie prop was cast from the base of the same devil and angel face off of a bowen DD statue, which makes it that much cooler.

Alright, grab the pics if you want them guys, they're eating up space in my albums and I need to free up some room.
