Danakin's Fenn Shysa (Mandalorian)

For the first half of this year I've been busy putting together my new Mandalorian costume, based on Fenn Shysa from the classic Marvel Star Wars comics. It is mostly scratch built, the only armor pieces I built from kits were the helmet and gauntlets - both of which required extensive repair and prep work. The soft parts, with the exception of the cape, were purchased, everything else was all me.

The goal was to have it finished for the San Diego Comic-Con this year and thankfully I reached that goal by finishing it the Saturday beforehand. I had a blast trooping in it, it actually held up much better than I imagined, having been my first troop without a test run and all. Here's some of my favorite pics from the con.

That is a great costume, man. I love it! I bet you get called Boba Fett a lot, huh? :lol

I have a Merc costume that I am finishing up, myself. I've trooped in it a few times, just working out the bugs. Even with the custom paint job of desert browns and tans, I still get kids running up to me and calling me Boba Fett - even Tahmoh Penniket ("Helo" from Battlestar Galactica tv series) called me Boba Fett.

It looks great, man. Truly, an inspiration.

I'm a total ESB Fett nut BUT I love the look of your costume... most of all your Helmet!! it totally reminds me of my Vintage !2" Fett

It is great to see a different types of cannon Fetts, I'm not into custom Mandos myself... and i'm sorta getting tired of seeing all the ESB suits ppl are making :lol
I use to see only ROTJ suits...:confused

I finished my ESB last year for a con in my city just like you, with out a test run... it held up well though a knee fell off at the end...waa waa.

Thanks! I didn't know the vintage 12" Fett had white cheeks, that's pretty cool.

I am on TDH, I have a thread on there too but it's mostly the same pics.

nice! cruzer has a bkbt waiting for me and i plan on doing the fett version from the comics with the same color scheme, (minus the jaig eyes). yours looks great and it helps to know that mine will look good when it's done and not weird like a few friends think it will.

I've been having a blast wearing this costume here and there for the past year. One thing that I didn't have time to do before SDCC last year was a black wash to all the armor pieces, I was able to do that before last Halloween. There's a few more changes/upgrades I'll be making as time and (more importantly) money allow. Here's some more recent pictures of my costume from local events I've attended.

Sweet! Nicely done, sir! It's amazing that no one has done a Fenn Shysa before. Does nobody remember the Marvel comics? Why aren't there any Zeltrons in the Rebel Legion?? Where are the hoojibs? Huh? How about a Rik Duel, Dani and Chido? Baron Tagge? Shira Brie? Where's the Marvel SW love?

Seriously, great job. Fenn Shysa is the original "other Mandalorian."
