Faken, just saw those new kits from AVP, they're looking 'saaawweeeeeeet, but the lack of netting...just kills me.

Not the best paint scheme on them either, they look super plain, but that's beside the point. No netting is just...UUUGHH, any one feel the same way? :D

Yeah i feel the same...no netting sucks...but the kits are still cool! Im still trying to find decent netting in scale with the kits....nothing as of yet....if i find some ill be sure to post on the lair!

That would be cool to fit netting over those kits, REALLY cool man. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is...you know those bag/nets that they hold oranges, or onions in at the super market? Yea, those...but since my practical knowledge of actually building kits and all that is slim to none I'm not sure how well that would work.

By the way, I guess I should mention that there are a couple of kits produced by Narin that do feature Preds with netting, excluding the P2 PredatorStuff.com/Narin kit that will be arriving shortly. I love his crazy ass ideas for Preds, and they'd be a favorite of mine but the lack of netting just leaves something to be desired. SuperEdge will be missed. :D

For 3rd scale models I recommend trying cheap black hair-nets (got mine in ASDA). I find most grocery bags have more than one strand to them so that looks too thick and messy, in the past I have gone to the lengths of glueing individual strands of cotton to a kit where I have customised areas, it really does make a difference to the detail of a model to have the netting but I'm wondering if Narin is having problems finding the right thing himself.

hey bensin,ok......pardon my ignorance. :)
i thought that the kits you were talkin' bout were new releases. my bad :D

narin is [in my humble opinion] the best thing thats ever happened to predator model kits. his work is not legend,..........its far better than that.

stay cool my pred brothers. peace!
lance.

I painted an old Argonauts Predator for a friend of mine a good 11 or 12 years ago. It didn't have netting either but, while at 'Hungry Jacks' ('Burger King' for the Americans) i asked if i could buy one of their hair nets:

One net would probably do 2 or 3 kits, i didn't use much at all. Its not perfect IMO, but he was wrapped with it

Hey man, no worries, I wasn't trying to be rude or aggressive toward you. I was just commenting on the guy's first post to resurrect a very old thread.

This actually looks awesome from the picture I'm seeing. :)

I agree but I also disagree to an extent... I feel like if there's NO net, NONE, then it looks fine... But if there's only SOME net, like on the legs (the Alternative Hunter comes to mind?) then it looks just a little out of place...

Take it from me, though, Bensin... if you spent a lot of time painting the netting, you'd be glad Narin doesn't put it on everything! lol

The fact that Joe D still hasn't gone completely crazy from painting netting and individual dreads is just a miracle... lol, I've only worked on a few kits and I'm already irritated just by the thought of it.
